People cannot connect to my server

This all started this morning. It seems my IP has changed. I noticed this, and told everyone about the new IP, Which was my "IPv4 address"

Using that address, I can log in, but no one else can. Why can't other people log into my server. They say it's either a "communication error" or "Cannot reach server".

Please, help would really be appreciated!

When trying to connect to my server, with the IP it says I have from whatismyip, I get the error "Connection refused:connect". I can connect to my server by typing in my router's number : 192.168.1.100, but that's it. No one else can get in.

    Have you Port Forwarded?

Goto www.canyouseeme.org and enter in the port you should of forwarded: which could be 25565

Error: I could not see your service on xxxxxxxxxxx on port (25565)
    Reason: Connection timed out

How do I forward it c:?

Also, this was working just yesterday with my old IP, and I don't think I did anything to forward it or w/e. I just set up the server and that was it, everyone could get in...

Do you have a static IP or a dynamic IP?

Also your friends enter your external IP not your internal to get into your server. The only reason you can enter your server through the internal is because you are directly linked to that router.

Dynamic. My external one is the one I see on whatismyip, right? That one doesn't work, but the one from yesterday worked. It was the one I had when I first started the server.

You need a static IP to be able to get your friends to connect to your server. Type in on Google, "How to make my IP Static". Once you make it static, look up how to Port Foward or use Hamachi. I use Hamachi, because it is less of a pain to get to work and is quicker. Look up a Hamachi or Port Forwarding guide on Youtube for Minecraft after you set up your static IP.

    Hope this helps!

Interesting, My friend on FB told me I need a dynamic IP xD Thanks, but, I'd like to know why it worked before too.

Yea you don't want a Dynamic IP because they change over time, and a static IP doesn't.

    Or not.
While setting up a bukkit server, you should always use a Static IP, Dynamic IP can change and mess up the server. I think it is included in the bukkit setup files.

your ipv4 is a local adress usually.
make sure you have port forwarded to 25565 and you are connecting to the IP shown on whatismyip.com followed by :25565

    example:
    Whatismyip.org says 123.321.234.4
and you have port forwarded to 25565, so you would connect to 123.321.234.4:25565
