I don't even know if this would be possible to do with Bukkit, but it sure as hell would be amazing. I found it in this Reddit thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/qy8lk/i_flipped_one_world_upsidedown_over_another_one/ Here's an imgur gallery: http://imgur.com/a/nhudw#0 It looks like he took two seeds and flipped one of them, then placed it above the other.
It might be possible to mirror the world upside down, so y: 128 would be center and blocks are mirrored above from the real world below, the only problem I can think of is liquids, maybe just remove all liquids on the mirrored world? EDIT: Cacti, sugarcane, mushrooms, long grass etc would have to be removed
There is a huge drawback which is visibility. On the images he just used a few chucks if you have an entire world like that then it would be a normal world version of the nether. No light, monsters all the time unless you disable them. It would be nice if it would mirror the world only above a user inserted height lvl. Like for instance anything above 5 or 10.
Wouldn't it be possible, like in the nether, to make the ambient light level 13 or something, so you could see? Just a thought I had...
Think it would be better if it was more along the lines of skylands.. without the void below, so basically a normal world with bedrock, and skyland islands/large land masses mirrored, so they had an underneath side..
I don't think this is possible, you cant generate tree upside down.. and to make the world generate and then flip, is going to force you to wait along time before the chunk is loaded:/
It doesnt generate it, it could build it. and it wouldnt have to flip, it could spawn it in like it's regular land :] all it would have to do is reverse the process after a lets say 10 block air gap :]
You still have to have something that already is build/generated to flip from, and that forces you too wait for the first layer to generate before you can generate the fliped upside layers!!
I don't care if this is fake at all, but have we been able to determine if something like this is even feasible to try working towards?
I'm sure it's possible, I'm just not sure how to code such a plugin. My java knowledge is not the greatest. Would anyone like to try?
