   Zeroth

   So there are a lot of different licenses out there, and for someone with no experience publishing code before, the task of choosing one is a little bit daunting.
   
   I've just begun development on a new plugin which I want to be open source for others to learn by and experiment with, but I don't want anyone to legally be able to take my project.
   
   What licenses do you (other developers) use and why?

   I personally use GPLv3, as do many other developers. Each license is a little different though, so it might be best to run a Google search and read about them all for yourself.
