  1. Hello,
we had a problem of block reappearing when broken.

We upgraded to craftbukkit 450, the problem is gone but another problem is here now: when a player logout from the game, the server freeze, the chat is laggy, the blocks reappear et players stop moving. This last 2-4 seconds and on a big server (+-80-100 players) it it A LOT of logon/logout every minutes... so its very annoying :/

There is no lag when a player join, only on logout !!
    Our server is an AMD 6core @ 3.2ghz, 16gb DDR3 ....

Any idea or a bukkit build with no lag? :p

does anybody know whats causing this?

we run a server with a regular 70+ people online, meaning constant log ins / outs, this cant continue to happen or we're screwed :/

I also experience latency issues with my server, although I haven't changed my plugins (besides updating) since the new map format. It makes sense since the server latency spikes up when someone joins or leaves. I've also noticed that teleporting to other players takes an extremely long time now. Maybe because the chunks are 32x32 instead of 16x16? Regardless, the server now has to deal with the bigger map files.

The connection to the server isn't the issue since it has a very high bandwidth and I'm not being throttled. I've checked both my connection and server's connection are they are both 5MB/s + and I lag on the server. Even a player who has a 200MBit connection (college) has lag on the server. This all changed since we've updated to the 1.3 server.

its not "latency" for us, its quite simply:

    someone logs out
    server lags for 1-2 seconds

    no lag whatsoever otherwise

we can have LITERALLY 100+ people online, and if none of them are logging out, it is 110% lag free COMPLETELY, only if people log out does it lag for 1-2 seconds for some reason

Latency is the measure of delay in a system and/or network (lag). So when someone connects disconnects, the server lags. The same happens with my server.

Here's what I posted on the "permissions 4.0" post, I appear to have found the culprit

Had this problem once with an older version of Essentials. Disabled the memory freeing upon player logout and the problem went away. However, with the new CB 493 and latest essentials I don't have that problem at all.

Could you please explain more on this memory freeing up...

If you run the essentials plugin, go into the config file (Usually under plugins/essentials/config.yml) and look for an entry called
Put that value to false and see how it goes.
