If you have ever been in the following hypothetical situation: You're bored. You're trying to make a farm that everyone will want to hang out at and look at the cure baby animals. You finally found two chickens, and you give them some wheat... But WAIT–a big headed chicken? It's supposed to be a cute little chick. What went wrong? This plugin is here to help! What does it do? BabyAnimals Patch, quite simply, replaces the vanilla baby animals with the ones from cocoavalley's Baby Animals mod. But, you can't just put this in your plugins folder and expect results. You'll most likely get this error: How to fix/requirements First off, you will need to have ModLoaderMp on your server. You can follow the instructions and download it on this page: http://www.mcportcentral.co.za/index.php?topic=1037.0 . You will also need my Bukkit version of Baby Animals installed, which you can get from here: http://goo.gl/uadHA . To install it, simply put the downloaded zip file in your /mods directory. If you don't have one, run your server with ModLoaderMp once, and it shall be created. Every client that wants to join your server must also have Baby Animals installed along with ModLoader, Audio Mod [Optional], ModLoaderMp Client, and my Client Addon for Baby Animals. By install, I mean you need to copy the files that are included in each download to your minecraft.jar, and then delete the two files that start with MOJANG inside the META-INF directory of your minecraft.jar archive. Sounds complicated? A quick Google search of "how to install ModLoader on windows" or simmilar should tell you exactly what to do. Just follow the instructions with the other files as well. The client addon is a single file that needs to overwrite one that is in Baby Animals, so make sure to install it after you install Baby Animals. Also, the contents of the "resources" folder in the Baby Animals download should go into the resources folder of your .minecraft. A complete guide on installing it is available on my forum post: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/769422-110-181ssp-mods-in-smpsmpbukkit/ . Installing the Plugin Simply place the JAR file from the download below in your plugins folder. If you run into a problem, make sure you have ModLoaderMp for Bukkit along with my Baby Animals port installed. If there is still a problem, feel free to post it here. Aw they look so cute. But yeah, all these requirements aren't that nice. Can't you team up with the dev of the client baby mod and then use this new "communication channel" API of bukkit that allows your plugin to communicate with the mod? That would be quite awesome because 1. the server mod would not be a mod anymore, only a plugin 2. clients without the client mod can still join. But anyway, great work porting this to bukkit!
Communication channel? I've been behind with the new updates and things, so I'm not quite sure what you mean? Mercury Last time I checked, Spoutcraft lacked explanation and a mod like this couldn't be made on it. EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
Well, I'm not a dev or something, but the bukkit team tweeted about something new that allows a client mod to communicate with a plugin on a server. Like that, if this baby client mod gets support for it, you could check if the client has it installed, couldn't you? Edit.: Here's something I found somewhere, don't know what it means, but I think you will know. http://jd.bukkit.org/doxygen/d6/d28/namespaceorg_1_1bukkit_1_1plugin_1_1messaging.html
efstajas Ooh!! That will definitely be interesting to work with! You don't happen to know how I can send these messages from the client, do you?
Nope, sorry. Edit.: I found a plugin which I guess uses the API. http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/ad...le-zombes-noclip-on-your-server-1-1-r3.54548/ I'm not sure though, but it pretty much looks like it does. ( md_5 Does your Zombe Noclip- Plugin use the new plugin channel api?)
efstajas I think I have an idea of the whole communication system now. But, it won't ever make it so that no client side is required.
By installing this. i wont have any players to look at my big headed chickens...... waaay to many req...
This isn't for people who want a really big, public server. This is for those that want a modded server. They will probably already have some other big mods installed (i.e. IC2, BC) so this isn't that big of a deal.
