    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    The Multiverse Team:
    Developers:

@main-- - Is this his forum account? Localization person and MV-Adventure dev!

    • Fixed a bug with new Portals
    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup
      • Now you no longer have to set the server.properties PVP variable to true... this is now completely done via the worlds config and properly stops PVP rather than preventing the damage from being applied.
    Version 1.6.3

    • Update for Minecraft 1.5 and CraftBukkit build 733
    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5
Version 1.6 - Thanks to 'fernferret'

    • Updated for CB Builds 600+
    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

  4. This is unrelated to Multiverse.

Our dev builds are almost always up to date. http://ci.onarandombox.com They're also quite stable, as I use them.

Multiverse does not handle build permissions. This is configured in your Permissions plugin.

It looks like you're trying to reset a world that's being backed up at the same time (or something else is still holding on to it). I'll pass this on to the main Adventure dev.

Looks like you've mismatched version. If you're using a dev version of core, always grab the corresponding version of Portals.

All dev builds can be found on our jenkins: http://ci.onarandombox.com

Make sure you're on at least MV2.2 (maybe even 2.3 is needed). This is a pretty new feature.

There are 2 things you can do right now:

    A. /mvm set memory false WORLDNAME - This will not keep said worlds spawn chunks loaded in memory
    B. /mvm unload WORLD - This manually unloads a world. It's not automatic atm. sorry.

These are chunk errors. Try repairing your world. Multiverse doesn't deal at the Chunk Level. (only the world).

Yea this was a boo boo, I had forgotten to update all of the dev builds. They should all work now \o/

I am 3 weeks into administrating my server, and having a blast--especially with MultiVerse; thanks!

Anywho, things have been going great, and I decided to add the SignPortal mod.
For some reason it is not working as described.
Been looking everywhere that I can think of (wiki, forum, etc), but nothing is jumping out at me.

Specifically, when I link a signpost or nether gate to a portal, I get an error message ingame "The Destination on this sign is Invalid!", and the sign does not teleport me to the portal destination. (using the p: prefix)

Note that these portal destinations do work with other portals without issues, so I know they are valid in the scope of Multiverse-portals.
Also note that signposts DO work, oddly enough, when teleporting directly to a world (with the w: prefix) or a player (with the pl: prefix).
Tried in multiple worlds, inside regions, outside of regions, made sure area above and below destination is clear.
All other mods seem to be functioning just fine.

No java dumps or messages of any kind at console.

    1) I plant the sign.
    2) enter [mv] on the second line
    3) add p:testportal on the third line
3.1) note that testportal is a valid portal with a destination verified as working through conventional usage (walking through it)
    4) hit Done
    5) [mv] turns green
    6) right click on portal
    7) error message "The Destination on this sign is Invalid!"

Here is a brief rundown of my setup:
    Minecraft 1.1
    CraftBukkit 1.1r3 (1846)
    Multiverse-core 2.2AB
    Multiverse-portals 2.2AB
    Multiverse-SignPortals 2.2AB
    Multiverse-NetherPortals 2.2AB
    PersmissionsBukkit

    OTHERS:
    ChestShop
    DynMap
    Essentials
    HeroChat
    iConomy
    LWC
    MineBackup
    Multiinv
    NoCheat
    PluginMetrics
    UltimateArena
    WorldEdit
    WorldGuard

    Permissions:
For me, I have permissions set to multiverse.*=true
Separate trial, I also tried the wiki instructions specifically multiverse.signpost.validate and multiverse.signpost.create
Also note that I set up the sign as both op and deop.

So at this point I'm just shy of poking around in the source core itself (if available), but my java skills are pretty amateurish.

    Thoughts?

  7. Hi everyone,

I'm guessing that the latest RB for MC 1.1 has introduced this as I was using 2.0 on RB r1 [1818]

As I got the errors below on r3, I figured it was time for an update and was looking forward to trying some of the new possibilities.
I tried 2.2 with r3 and that was a no-go (same error as below) so I went for the latest Multiverse Dev build and still this existed:

I've been using Multiverse very effectively for a while now so I know there might be some depreciated commands floating around in my head but I don't think I got them wrong and if I had stupidly stuck the .JAR in the wrong folder it wouldn't have even tried loading it, right?
At this point I'm ruling out user error and waiting to see if this report will help you fix any future release you consider making available.

Thank you for this plugin and the time all of you have put into it. It is appreciated.

    Hi,

I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong but I must be missing something as I just can't get permissions set up correctly with MV. I keep getting the "Doesn't look like you're allowed to go there..." error and I can't figure out why as the permissions config looks correct and I've read and reread the MV wiki. I'm using multiverse.teleport.self.*: true with PermissionsBukkit. Is this correct?

Another problem I'm having is with multiverse.core.list.worlds: true. It shows the list text but doesn't actually list any worlds, however when using multiverse.*: true, all the worlds show up in the list with no problems.

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

I am trying to whitelist my creative world, to do so I only gave permissions for our survival world only thing is, its not working correctly. I have to give multiverse.access.* for anyone to get out of the main spawn world. I use the current pex, multiverse, and bukkit.

Could anyone help me with MultiversePortals?
I want to setup a system where You stand in the portal/launching area, and I can simply select or point to a block, and when you walk through the portal you're launched there perfectly. Is this possible?

Hello I want to be able to set my server up so that builders can build in my main world which they already can. But i would like to have them beable to use my portal to another world where they can only look around but can't build. Is there anyway someone could tell me what permissions i need to add to make this possible. Thank you

i love this plugin, just a few requests to make things easier.
    • per world weather control, seeing as some weather plugins have problems
    • per world time control
    • permanent weather conditions; ie: if i want a certain world to be storming all the time
    • synchronize time between certain worlds
    • permanent time (as said above) could be useful

  20. Yep. Sorry i've been so quite. Been fixing issues, adding features and adding docs. You must hang around our IRC, because the current dev builds are looking good, I have 3 issues to resolve (https://github.com/Multiverse/Multiverse-Core/issues?milestone=6&state=open) and I'll get those taken care of tomorrow.

    Thanks for your patience.

Is anyone else having this problem with the sign portals? Using sign portals at all / works fine for them? Known issue?

    Thanks

    Details...

    Thoughts?

  24. I've helped several servers setup signs with the 2.2 ab. I'm currently testing 2.3, but I'll get back to you.

You have some very weird stuff going on. Delete _all_ your multiverse jars (not folders) and try the latest dev builds. Remember, if you use a dev build of core, you need a dev build of any other MV plugin.

    Heads up:

2.3 AB is being held up by tests. You can check progress here. The document is a work in progress, but we're doing this so y'all get a better plugin.

Thanks! Take your time, I understand how much of a pain software quality control can be.

You guys are pulling rabbits out of hats, as far as I can tell :) Rabbits of pure awesome with really cool color patterns in the fur, that can go toe to toe with any creeper, any day!

Hi all, kinda wondered if it's possible to determine the Portal exit depending on how you entered the sending portal.
Entering the sending portal front should exit the receiving portal on the back, but entering the sending portal on the back should send me to the front of the receiving one. It seems to always place me in the same place, no matter how you enter it.
Also wondered if it's possible to exit the portal on the same spot you entered it (recalculated based on size differences).
This would make it possible to make one portal and have multiple rail tracks run through it and make a ramp in a huge portal making you enter and exit on the ramp.

I have been trying for the last few hours to get your plugins to work. I have the latest CB build of craftbukkit-1.1-R3, and I also have the latest versions of your plugin from this site.

My problem is as follows, I have two worlds, and two portals, 1 in each world. The starting or "default world" everything works fine in, I can create, link, and modify destinations of portals with ease and they work 100%, Soon as I step into World 2, and try to do this nothing works, I can modify Portal destinations but when I try to step through It says "this portal goes nowhere" and shoots me out.

I am not using permissions(small 5 man server for friends), and I only have 4 other plugins on my server that I have tried disabling before doing this yet to no avail. I'm kind of at a loss here, can't figure out what's going wrong and why the destinations are only working one direction.

Hello. Multiverse isnt enforcing game mode changes between worlds for me. It was working fine for weeks but has now suddenly stopped working. There arent any errors in the console either

  29. 2.3 ab is out (http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/multiverse-core/) and I tested, confirmed, and fixed your issue. Enjoy!
