    Hello, I got a problem on my bukkit server. My friends can't join. ( I haven't tried yet since they're still asleep ) Well , I'm trying to host over Hamachi since 2 of my friends that i play with are still on cracked. On their screen it says " Connecting to server..." Then Connection timed out.

    This is what's coming up in the Craftbukkit server ( I used the installer )

    Leave your server-ip blank, unless Hamachi requires it. Not sure, never used it before. Furthermore, if they're on cracked clients because they haven't purchased the game, shame on them, they need to pay to play, and we do not condone piracy in this community so we can't help you there. Now, if they HAVE paid for it but there's some other technical reason that they must run cracked clients, you don't need Hamachi for that. Hamachi is to get around the need to set up port forwarding, from what I know of it. Having online-mode=false should suit your needs. However, this will allow anyone to log in to your server with any name, even as an op.

    Thank you for the Reply, But i can't port forward since my Dad wont let me. And i have a friend who just typed in the hamachi ip on his cracked client, start bukkit and it worked but.

    My friends actually once got into the server. But when i closed it to get some plugins. And then opened the server. They couldn't join anymore.

    Perhaps an IP address somewhere along the line changed? Again, never used Hamachi, don't know the intricacies of it, but either your external IP address, or the IP address of the Hamachi server may have changed.

    Well, I'm not really good at those kind of stuff since i have no background in programming or using IP Adresses.

    But i can host Vanilla servers great but bukkit servers no.
    And can you maybe try to host Bukkit with hamachi and see if it works for you?

    In terms of the underlying network mechanics, there is virtually no difference between a Bukkit server and a regular Minecraft server, so if you can host one, you should be able to host the other. However, both do require a bit of basic knowledge of the TCP/IP model, but that really goes with being an admin of any kind of server.

    And I avoid Hamachi like the plague, so no, sorry, I won't be installing it on any of my systems. ;)

    @c0mp
    I believe that you need to put the Hamachi ip in the server.properties for it to work.
    @FireKAng99
    I've used it once in the past and I had to do that, or though I too try to avoid Hamachi and other programs like that - they are more complicated than port-forwarding itself in most cases. I would try to bargin with your dad a bit more - if you can't though, I suggest starting over and finding a good tutorial on how to set hamachi up with a minecraft server. Either by using google or searching the minecraft forums.

    So just set it up like a ordinary Vanilla server?

    IT'S BEEN FIXED.
    I just wanna say thanks to all of you guys for helping me!
    But my friend is having a little problem. He can join my server and everything, But he can't build. Everyone else can but not him. You guys maybe know why?
