So if they all sleep, it'll reset the time?

They will wake up to find that the time will change back to night within seconds.

Awesome! *downloads* I would see some problems with someone using a '/time day' command though... Still, very useful.

I would love this, if you could turn it off and still use timeshift.
Basically I want the time to sync with real time, but I want the option that, if people are on really late at night, and still want to build in the light, that I can turn timeshift back on, and cancel out this plugin.

n00btrauma happening - for installation, do I just copy the RealTime folder I get when I unzip the archive (containing the com directory and the plugin.yml file) into the plugins folder? I'm running CB 818/MC 1.6.6 and RealTime doesn't start - no errors, just nothing. What shamefully incorrect thing am I doing (or not doing)?

    Tbanks!

Put RealTime.jar into the plugins folder. It will create its own folder after being ran once. After that shutdown the server, go into the folder, open Realtime.yml. In RealTime.yml, look for your world that you wish to have realtime active for and change "enabled: false" to "enabled: true". Save and close Realtime.yml, start your server and enjoy a 24 hour day in minecraft.

    OK, awesome. THANKS!

Weird - I rename . the .zip I downloaded from the link in this thread to .jar and put it in the plugins dir - when I startup the server I get a

15:54:33 [SEVERE] Could not load 'plugins/RealTime.jar' in folder 'plugins':
java.io.FileNotFoundException: Jar does not contain plugin.yml

error. If I look in the archive the plugin.yml is there. Is there a link that has a .jar file, or is the .zip meant to be renamed to .jar?

    Thanks again!

Right there, is your problem. A zip file is a compressed archive that needs to be extracted. If extracted you will find a RealTime.jar inside. But you make a good point, not everyone can open a zip without downloading extra software. I'll look into putting the jar itself onto the first page.

The .jar download did the trick. You are Most Awesome. Keep the great plugins coming!

So, it sets Minecraft time at the time your system is showing?
And also, what if people live in different timezones? Will they have the same in-game time as the server?

    Mephestrial

For each world you have: Minecraft's in-game time = server's system time + that world's offset (which is in hours).
So obviously their ingame time will match whatever time it is on the server.
And before you ask, the days consist of 12 hours of day followed by 12 hours of night.

Edit the RealTime.yml. Change the setting to "true" for each world you want to use it with. Save the file.

CraftBukkitUpToDate [thread] says it has no source for this plugin and to ask you to provide one to the author.

Off to post the same message in the other plugin it mentioned's thread.

Is this plugin still supported? It looks great! I have had WeatherSync for a while and this looks to be the perfect counterpart. Also, like Fluffgar over there, I would love to see this added to CraftBukkitUpToDate. It makes updating plugins much easier, especially when a new Bukkit RB comes out.

I send the creator of CraftBukkitUpToDate a link to a static jar. He must never have seen it... Anyway it still works, hasn't broke once since I re-released it.

Could you add a latitude option, whereby it scales the length of the day based on the time of year? (I live in a fairly high latitude, so during the summer and winter the plugin is less effective.)

    Thanks for maintaining it though!

    1. Go into RealTime's config file and find your world.
    2. Make sure that enabled: is set to true.
    3. Set the offset: to the number by which you wish to adjust the time by (in your case 3).
    4. Test it to make sure it is working.

Haha just kidding. I looked into doing it myself, but the Equation of Time is immensely over my head, so I actually do not wish to ask you to do that.

I saw this was already asked, but never answered. Having dynamic night/days. So instead of every day having 12 hours of light and dark, having it get light when it's dawn and dark when it's dusk.

I don't know how it would be incorporated, but I would imagine you could tap into an rss feed for "x" city or "latitude", have it pull sun rise/set times and have it adjust off of that.

I have no idea how difficult that would be to implement, but I know WeatherSync pulls weather data from an rss feed, so I'm sure it's feasible.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and make a great plugin!

Can you update it for CB 1337 + ? Or inactiv? :(

It never stopped working. Still using it on my own server with no problems.
The only reason I haven't updated the title is because I want to make a newer/better version instead.
