    Minecraft RemoteToolkit
-Less downtime, more fun for your players, more power to you!

Are you a Minecraft server administrator? Do you value up-time and stability? Do you fancy the ability to remotely control your server, both in-game and out of game, in a myriad of useful ways from a plethora of different devices?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then the Minecraft RemoteToolkit is for you!

What the Minecraft RemoteToolkit Plugin and Wrapper do for you:
    • Provides almost perfect server uptime with no need for action from an owner/administrator!
    • Have your server save and restart at any time period with configurable restart warnings!
    • The Toolkit guarantees a restart within the set restart period, even if your server crashes, becomes unresponsive, or encounters a "SEVERE" exception!
    • Remotely control every function of the Toolkit, even from your smart phone!
    • Full remote console access via telnet with support for multiple terminal types!
    • Telnet daemon conforms to current Telnet related RFCs!
    • Customizable alert messages!
    • Fully extendable though 3rd party modules!
    • Full feature set works with most craftbukkit builds!
    • Most features work with any Minecraft server variation, even vanilla!
    • Telnet can be disabled!

Any donation would be very much appreciated. I'm but a poor University student, and I sacrifice quite a lot of unpaid time to keep the Toolkit updates and support flowing.

Thank you to the following who have chosen to support the Toolkit through a donation:

I updated the toolkit to include that command. Download it again and replace Minecraft_RKit.jar with the new version.

Ah, nice, so it will work? =p also, can you make this compatible whit ontimecommands? it would be EPIC whit your plugin, make it use .forcerestart every 40 mins would raise my uptime a lot =) is it a change? maybe? =p

Also, if i may suggest something? (don't know if it works, since i'm not good at this) but is it possible to make, that when something types in console, it auto restart? like, when Read timed out gets typed, it uses .forcerestart
? if it's possible, i would be thrilled to see it! and if someone's thinking *hey, the players can just type it* then we can just get a anti swearing filter, if just to add that =P I would be soooo happy if you did that! =D

Release 11 should be able to detect a Read Timeout problem.

Have you made sure that TCP port 25565 is forwarded to the computer hosting your server?

It does seem to take a lot of gb thought... installed it, and the day after, the server took 0.5 extra gb, =o is it the pluggin, or not? =p

I'm making XP support a priority for Release 11.

    How much is it using?

    davvem

Oh, nvm, it's just using 0,5 gb or so, that's ok, =p
And, 4/8 ( soon 12 ) gb isint much =p Good plugin! keep developing it! =D
and this awesome plugin is ABSOULUTLY worth 0,5 gb!

    Have you done portforward? :?

Try to lower intitial heap size a bit :3 might help.
Also, make sure you have the right name on craftbukkit typed in, remember to attach a .jar after it, example, if it says only craftbukkit, it's still craftbukkit.jar there =)

I merely added a couple of debugging commands in the last updates, it would not have had an effect on the errors you are experiencing. You should note that these errors are on bukkit/minecraft's end, and thus cannot be fixed by the toolkit alone. The best Release 11 will be able to do is provide more accurate crash/error detection, which is a good start.

Is it normal to have a instance of the program open for every plugin that I have installed? I have a good amount of plugins so I have like 30 instances opened when I launch my server using this. Thanks!

this question may or may not have been answered, but I don't run my server from craftbukkit.jar I run it with a .bat file...when I change the name of the starter in "wrapper.properties" the message I receive is along the lines of: "cannot access 'CraftBukkit Starter'(the name of my server launcher)...restarting" any way this will access a .bat file instead of .jar?

Quick question: Is there a list of modules available for RTK, or plugins which support it? So far I've found milkAdmin, but looking for more...

I have not tested this. Possibly.

Are you using htop to check this?
If the toolkit were really running more than once, you would get a number of socket exceptions from both minecraft and the toolkit.

What is the content of the .bat?
You should be asking the .bat to launch the toolkit, not the other way around.

The R10 API is not publicly documented, so there are not many modules available.
This makes use of a plugin that includes a toolkit module: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/adminium-an-ios-app-for-bukkit.18194/

yes, htop is what is telling me that. I do keep getting a bad packet error but I don't know if that is at all related. Should htop show me that many copies of it running?

    drdanick

In that case you can ignore the extra "processes".
The bad packet error is an issue (from what I have seen) with a 1.7 client "talking" to a 1.8 server and (possibly) vice-versa.

    Grimmy777

so ignore all that top part in the picture i just posted?

  31. Offline

    drdanick

Yes. Both top and ps do not seem to have this issue, so you may want to look at using those programs to list running process information.
