    Unless you integrate the Bukkit login system there no one's going to make a new account just so they can ask a question through one post :p

    You need to modify the TooManyItems give format first though.

    And that is exactly what I am doing now, apart from replying here.

    Thanks! I was looking at that. So i guess i'll delete commandbook and install essentials! Could you give me a link. Don't want to get the wrong plugin.

    If you already have commandbook, you only need to give the permission
    Code:
    commandbook.give

    You can use either one of the two plugins. You just have to change the first part to match the permission nodes they use. Essentials is for those who are too lazy to set up individual features, but CommandBook is lightweight and fast.

    @vivanewvegas
    Essentials also has a bunch of incompatibilities with plugins.

    The ticket system, which I suggested, looks good.
    You should also look into a live chat client,
    here.

    It's fine, but It puts more load on the "employees".

    @M1sT3rM4n
    I have the system "working"

    Try to login to
    www.bukkithelp.tk
    with your bukkit login. It should say "You Win" if it is correct.

    notifying: @M1sT3rM4n @Retricide

    I've got the bukkit login system working. Just log into www.bukkithelp.tk with your bukkit username and password, and you will be automatically registered.

    Nice work.
    However, I'm still a bit skeptical about a forum, when we already have a thread. I just dot see people going elsewhere when they can just post here. It won't make it much easier on us either.
    I think a ticket system is more efficient and streamlined.
    However, I understand you put a lot of work into the forum, despite it not being the most pragmatic solution, and maybe we should still use it...but as an extension to this thread and the ticket system.

    @Retricide
    What would make the forum more practical then?
    The only reason the thread is efficient is because of tagging. (Which I am going to implement on the forum)

    The ticket system locks out community help, and puts all the weight on the shoulders of the firm "employees"

    The ticket system works when you have a centralized company that also provides services. Not the case here.

    Watching this thread works too.
    I don't think I'm construing my stance effectively, though.

    I agree with you that a forum would be quite efficient, with the advantage being community input, but I just don't think it's practical. We're already on a forum, and most people (including myself) wouldn't go to another forum to ask a question, when they could just ask it on this forum, in this thread.
    See my point?
    A ticket system is a different approach, and is used by many threads/developers as it's a different medium of communication. Sometimes people might want more intimate, or personal, responses; A ticket system caters to that. Sometime they might want additional, or extremely specific help; A ticket system (+Live chat) caters to that.

    Maybe integrating the Ticket System + Live chat and the forums together would be a happy medium?
    Maybe a poll would help setttle this.

    I think integrating the ticket system and live chat will work just fine.

    It probably would, I wouldn't have the time to do support on that platform once the summer ends though :(
    If we could integrate the ticket system, live chat, and the forums, that WOULD be epic :)

    However, that would be too much work to set up.

    It should be forum+Live chat.
    Or maybe not live chat, but instant messaging.

    I'm really going for efficiency here. This thing might just take off overnight.

    The forum integration with bukkit logins was supposed to allow seamless transition to getting support on a different forum.

    I also see what you are getting at; however, won't a good ticket system require logins as well?

    The one that @M1sT3rM4n has on his website isn't the best I've seen (no offence).
    I submitted a test ticket, then wondered... Hmmmm, I never saw the ticket after I submitted it.
    I went back to check on it, and it requires a ticket ID.

    I didn't write down a ticket ID...

    @M1sT3rM4n
    But you see what I was saying right? The ticket system could get out of hand very quickly.

    And how am I supposed to receive a response to a ticket without signing up on another site?

    @M1sT3rM4n
    Also, by live chat, do you mean instant messaging? Or voice?

    Live IM.

    Ok. Makes sense.

    I think we should just have the foums and the IM. That would consolidate resources and would prevent overlap in functionality.

    Those who need specific 1 -on- 1 support can start up a live IM, and those who need general support can post on the forums.
    Also, that would throw out one login system and just use the bukkit compatable one.

    What do you think @M1sT3rM4n

    I think that the IM system + support ticket system will suffice.

    Riddle

    Hello guys, here's the situation:

    I have banned a guy from my server for hacking, so he attacked my server (IP) with Sprut (sending packages of data and terminating my connection) . My internet AND server where very unstable for the next 24h (I had to stop the server of course) but then in got back to normal and I started the server again. The problem was that no one could join. Well, I could, when typing 'localhost' in the IP bar. When me or anyone else tries to join it says "Connection timed out" It's like the server is not even on. In the server console there are no signs of that someone is trying to join. So I have reinstalled everything couple of times and then decided to install Norton 360 5.0 and the new Bukkit installer (the one with the Pail server Manager) AND MIRACLE now everyone could join. It happened that I had to uninstall the Norton and again the server was 'dead'. So installed Norton 360 again and everything was tip-top. By the common logic I decided and that Norton (by some unknown reason) keeps my server up. The last night I turned off my server and run a Disc Cleanup (defragmentation) with Norton and clicked on "turn off PC when done" and as I wake up this morning no one can join the server again..
    Maybe i have to notice that my server is running in offline mode and 90% of the players are with cracked versions of the game (but even those who aren't can't join)

    I have reinstalled Norton, Bukkit and Java but no resault. Here is some data:
    I'm using Windwos XP x32, SP3. and Java 7 on Quad2Core on 2.4, 4gigs of RAM

    The server when I start it:

    Code:
    'timeout' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

    Do you guys have any ideas what it could be or how I could fix it?
    Thanks, Riddle!

    You might want add java.exe and javaw.exe to whitelist of Nortons.

    That makes it seem like windows defender is configured to block outside connections. Norton also has a firewall that might disable windows defender. Try adding an exception to both to allow people to join.

    IN addition to that you have to turn off Windows Firewall.

    Guys I'm really thankful for the fast responses but fortunately they didn't work. I have turned off Windows firewall and i added All java and minecraft related stuff to Norton's firewall (tried disabling it at all) but no result No resault.JPG

    What other type of " windows defender " there could be? Should I reinstall everything and try again?

    Disable your antivirus, firewall, and make sure your port's forwarding (which it already is apparently, from your other post).

    All that can be disabled in Norton is disabled
    NOD is turned off
    Windows Firewall is turned off

    No result.
    Do you guys have a Paypal account for donations?

    I am looking through your other post more carefully now, and you wrote that you used a Bukkit installer. What installer did you use?

    I have stupid but quick question. What is the purpose of bukkitcraft? What will it allow me to do? Can I keep a server up 24/7?

    M1sT3rM4n

    Bukkit performs the same function as the vanilla server.jar that you download from Minecraft.net. Bukkit is just more lightweight, and allows you to mod the server via using Spout or using plugins that you can find on Bukkit.org.

    Whether you can keep the server up 24/7 is up to you, not Bukkit.jar :)
