    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More​

    Description
    Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

    People can't log into my 1060 Bukkit Server!:
    Are you using spout? If so, you need to upgrade it to a dev version or disable it until those guys release a 1060 compatible version.

    How do I know if I'm running CB XXXX or higher?:
    Type /version. The number here is your CB version:
    This server is running Craftbukkit version git-Bukkit-0.0.0-980-g4ed23b1-b1060jnks (MC: 1.7.3)
    Please check that this version is the same as one of those in the title of the post.

    Im getting this error (Could not pass player event PLAYER_MOVE to multiverse java.lang.NullPointerException) when I move: http://screensnapr.com/v/euet7b.png

    Tried both CB 325 and 326 (Current)

    Also suggestion: add per world borders that'd be awesome.

    i think I figured it out, it was a conflict with something else, i disabled all plugins besides multiverse and permissions
    and it worked

    So this is on our test - I set up the server and created a map called "ffa" - I tried to use /mvpc PVP w:ffa and got the message "portal created" yet I dont see anything pop up - does this not make the blocks yet?

    The command itself may be a bit misleading, it takes the target area and sets that area into a portal, it doesnt build a portal or anything.
     
  7. I have two suggestions:
    1) Can we have names longer that 10 characters please. I like to say the world name then another word (like the player name) but it doesn't always fit... (unless there's a technical reason why 10 is a hard set limit)
    2) Can you add a rename function that will go through the configs and rename all instances of a portal name to another. So we don't have to remove , re-create and then relink other portals.

    Edit: I also have a feeling that when I typed a /mvpc command with an incorrect world name I got no feedback of the mistake and the portal was made without a destination. I think that's what happened anyway

    Edit 2: And when I set a portal to direct to the Main worlds spawn (which I have changed using mvspawnset and I have the globalspawn config thing true) it directs me to a completely different place. Teleporting there works and re-setting the destination works. But 1st time creation does not. I do not know if this is a main world issue or a moved spawn issue.

    Edit 3:
    Another request: Can you make it so when you change spawn, portals targeting spawn locations also change..

    K - I figured out that I have to actually create those portals myself. Is there an easy way to set portal to portal transfer within the same WORLD?

    When I attempt to create the portal to portal with /mvpc TEST1 p:test2 - it says created - then when i create TEST2 - it doesnt work. thoughts?

    Regarding character limit, yeh changing that in the next version. The limit was put in place because sometimes you need to type two portal names in the chatbox at one point... so didnt want people assigning too long fo a name to prevent that, but then i guess thats not my fault but more the user which did so. I'll remove the limit full stop.

    Sure a rename functon is a great idea, shud be quite easy will see about adding it.

    Incorrect world name on /mvpc, thats most likely what happened, I've already started changing the way the destination is stored and set, last nights release was rather rushed and starting to think I should of delayed it 24 hours as it may be causing more problems.

    Teleporting to main world issue, have you got Essentials installed? chances are that is overriding MultiVerse or something, it should teleport you to the correct spot. Will look into it still.

    Yeh this feature is in the current build I'm working on.

    I will, but minecraft.net is down currently and I don't want to kick my players off and force them to stay off. The previous post was using essentials to load the plugin without rebooting the server.

    Seeing as I broke Portal -> Portal teleportation....

    You would have to create a portal, select it... then go to the area you want the portal to take you to and type '/mvpd here'

    I've fixed Portal -> Portal teleportation on the build I'm working on, just making sure I implement and fix the other stuff rather than rushing it.

    Thats fair enough, the chances are then that it is essentials as the last few versions of it ignored the nether portal setting in the config... so it would still use essentials teleportation.

    When you have the time and can restart the server... try downloading the latest Developers build of essentials from here http://earth2me.net:8001/guestLogin.html?guest=1

    I love MultiVerse, but did so far more before the 1.0 update - please please bring back portal destination signs.
    The command-based system is kinda a pain to use, to be honest.
    Other than that, however, this plugin is and has been quite amazing. Thanks for all your hard work!

    I'm feeling a bit stupid, I can make portals, but how do I use them? Working on the server for several hours kinda fried my brain. It all runs fine. I'm just confused on how to actually use the portals.

    if you create the portal right you just have to walk into it, the current setup is a bit confusing to get to grips with and i intend to make a tutorial/howto.

    Just adding some of the old functionality back now though with sign based teleports.

    I made the nether, and when I use /mvtp I can go to it, but I made this portal and pointed it to another portal that I made in the nether, and everything seems to work fine till I walk through it. Then I get this error in the console and no feedback in-game:

    Can get a portal made and can teleport.. but I'm not sure if im doing it right. I definitely don't get teleported to the spawn that was set in the nether.

    /mvsetspawn sets the spawn, but it doesn't seem to be saving.. if I teleport back to the other world and then /mvtp to the nether it dumps me at the default spawn point (I do have essentials).

    Version 1.1
    • PORTAL DESTINATIONS ARE STORED DIFFERENTLY NOW
      • I haven't got round to making a conversion tool to convert the current coordinates to the new ones, if you don't want to setup your portals again then i'll try have a converter out tomorrow.
      • Backup your current configuration files as well!
    • NO MORE SIGNS! - (Yup they're back, if a Portal isn't assigned a destination via commands then it will try the Sign Method)
    • Hopefully fixed a few bugs when enterring commands with the wrong syntax etc...
    • Removed Character Limit on Portals and Worlds, your own fault if you make it too long.
    • Portal to Portal teleportation should be fixed, been working fine on my server the past few hours.
    • Added '/mvprename {PORTALNAME} {NEWNAME}' - Rename a Portal instead of removing then creating again.
    • Mobs = true/false for individual worlds - Each world has a True/False setting for mobs and animals
      • This can be changed with '/mvmodify {WORLDNAME} {OPTION}:{VALUE}' as well as editting the file and restarting.
    Have you got Essentials enabled, Essentials is currently clashing with MV, unless you're running the latest Developers build of essentials.

    Still need to properly look at the CB/Minecraft Code, there's no proper function for pvp or mobs yet... so its finding a form of workaround etc...

    The mobs one was made easy by a recent change... now its just finding the PVP Flag.
