    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup

    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

    Matt

We've been having ram usage errors. Complete server crash, java error out of memory. We believe this is related to Multiverse and having multiple worlds. Has anyone had this problem? We currently are running 8gb of ram 7 of which are reserved for mineraft.

Well, in case anyone's getting any weird java.lang.NullPointerException when they try to connect to their server.. Remove Spout for now. Seems Spout isn't yet compatible with 1046.

Also, I think I've encountered a bit of a bug.. When I try to enable Animal Spawn on my map, but leave Monster Spawn disabled... Monsters are still spawning. Then when I disabled Animal Spawning TOO, and reload the plugin, monsters go away.

    EDIT:
In the OP feature list for MV2, it has this listed:
"Launch users through the air when they enter a portal!"

What does that mean exactly? And how do I accomplish it? lol

One more thing, when I make Portals with the destinations defined in the creation, I often have to re- modify dest on the second portal, in order to make it's destination stick.

Well, this is quite difficult because i live in UTC+5 time zone... :) anyway it's not necessary because I'm found what caused such strange behavior of the plugin. It is the Y-coordinate! When I was setting up destination I always used coordinates that provided by pressing F3 key. I always rounded it up. But this Y-coordinate show altitude of players view (66.62 for example). So I received coordinates of cube of air that not connected to the ground (67.0 for example). It makes plugin to start searching for safe place to teleportation. And it cause shift of destination point. When I set up coordinates of cube of air that connected to the ground (65.0 for expample), the plugin teleported me correctly.

So this is what we have. Will you do something with it or not - it's your choice. Well, it's time to say goodbye. Thanks for great plugin... ;) and sorry for my English... :(

Sorry, couldn't find this in the post, but if I upgrade from 1.7.2 to 2.0, will it conserve my extensive portal systems? Took quite a while to set them up.

  8. I highly recommend using "mvpm dest here" rather than typing in coords, much easier :p

  10. No it didn't. Multiverse does NOT actually do all that much, it simply asks your bukkit server to do things related to multiworld. If you either:
    A. deleted the wrong world, because one is still corrupt
    B. had more than one corrupted world

Try Chunkster. and try it on all your worlds. that's all I know.

Already been fixed in the dev builds, guess i'll promote it (this was the small bug talked about)

What it means is you have NOT imported your main world. Do that, and this goes away.

It will Install Multiverse-Core and Multiverse-Portals. On first run, a migrator will automatically grab your old configs and migrate. Please look here: https://github.com/Herocraft/Multiverse-Core/wiki/How-to-upgrade I'll make a note later today that it does. However. Make Backups.

If you come into our IRC channel and say MV2 deleted life the universe and everything, there's not much we can do for ya if you don't have backups!

It's a VERY new feature, and isn't actually documented yet. sorry, we'll call it a surprise :D

Try this: create a portal, and select it.
use /mvpm dest cannon-4 (where 4 is the velocity you want, warning even a velocity of 3 can kill you looking straight up)

Sigh.. seems all the 1.7.2 permissions have been removed from the guide..

Anyone know the permission for mvtp in multiverse 1.7?

EDIT: nevermind, didn't reread the thread properly, found the link to the archive

    Thanks

MultiVerse 2 came to me on the bukkit site and presented to me all the bugs it has, commending me which were more delicious. It was genetically created apparently to have a desire to be bugged.

So long and thanks for all the fish.

*I will try it out in half an hour, +1000 if you get the reference*

Also, I am a bit concerned, why does it say one of the ackward things of MV1 is not being able to set the destination on creation? I did this from the very start, never had problems with them.

    ./mvpc Name p:portaldestinations (or W whatever I like)

Though the ingame references also told me to set it after, I never had any problem with this...

Set it up with cb 1046, started server, config converted great (very nice feature btw), but was unable to log in due to a generic.reason. Judging by everyone else s success to log into their servers, is it safe to assume this is a conflict between another plugin I run and cb 1046? DISCLAIMER: There were no errors on server start

This is likely due to Spout, as its not updated to work with build 1046 yet.

i updated to 1046 uninstalled mv 1.7.2 and installed all 3 jars for 2.0 ran the server started up just fine with no errors then when i got on the server i could not build or execute any commands
im using bpermissions 1.1b as my permissions plugin could that be the problem?

    CB: 1046 (also tried 1051)
MV: v2.0-b216 (I've also tried the RBs)

I have all three plugins installed.

I get this error on load:

  19. Upgrade. I pushed a bugfix this morning that covers this.

Yep. MV doesn't deal with this. No idea what bpermissions is (unless it's short for PermissionsBukkit 1.1, in which case give yourself/users permissions.build

I removed MV 1.7.2 and installed all three new jars, now the server throws an NullPointerException at startup:

  21. You have a malformed portal. I'll put in a check saying it can't be imported
    at com.onarandombox.MultiversePortals.configuration.MVPortalsConfigMigrator.transformDestination(MVPortalsConfigMigrator.java:64)

For now, i'm afraid you'll have to figure out which portal is causing your troubles. I'd bet that problem a is causing problem b. I'm taking a break tonight to play some MC.

I'm having trouble getting this plugin to function at all. I'm using craftbukkit 1051 so why am I getting errors? It says I'm using "some funky dev build of bukkit" could that be it?? I'm including the log file....

  23. You're actually using CB 1000, from your log:
"This server is running Craftbukkit version git-Bukkit-0.0.0-945-g73697a4-b1000jnks (MC: 1.7.3)"

Also, your permissions have all kinds of bad going on there. Fix those, and upgrade your CB and I bet your problems will be fixed.

The above seems to be a problem with its handling of the ItemCraft version of Mo' Creatures. I don't know if the incompatibility lies in the bukkit version or in the Multiverse plugin. It does not, however, actually prevent the creatures from spawning.

The console is also suddenly getting
    [INFO] A BLOCK WAS PLACED
whenever, well, a block is placed. This doesn't appear to be Multiverse's fault though. Awfully random though. Is this a Bukkit issue?

I was having problems with PhoenixTerrainMod, but a second trial revealed they occur even with Multiverse out of the picture. Must be a version issue. Does PTM not work with Bukkit #1024?

This has slowly turned from a list of a bunch of apparent Multiverse bugs to, over editing, a couple of non-Multiverse bugs tangentially related to it that I'm hoping someone might have some wisdom to offer on. I feel n00bish as heck.

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I don't really have the time to read 169 pages of shtuff. My question is can you make different worlds PVP and NON PVP? Because I have multiple worlds and I would like some worlds to be PVP and the rest Non PVP. So if you can, could you please help me in telling me how to do such a thing? Thank you.

Damn, I was hoping to be able to switch to MV2 tonight but it seems something about CB1046 and newer is causing my CPU to peg at 100% as soon as any user logs in. I'm pretty sure it's one of the other addons I'm running but I haven't been able to peg it down at all. :(

    Hi,
I upgraded yesterday to MV2. Everything went smooth until I find out something was wrong.
When someone dies in a world, he always respawn to the default world. I did everything like /mv modify set spawn, /mv set spawn but it won't work. If I remove essentials it seems to work.

My question is, is it possible to tell MV2 to take control over any other spawn plugins like the previous MV release was doing just fine ?

    Here's my worlds.yml, just in case: http://pastebin.com/1EcABrJb

    Thanks in advance

  31. Hrm. this is interesting, I have a fix in mind. but if you could hop into irc in like 10 hours (if possible, i gotta head to work) I'd love to discuss this

    You should read the wiki:
    github.com/Herocraft/Multiverse-Core/wiki

    What you are looking for:
    mvm set pvp true/false

Hrm, not sure why/how those player lists made it in there... regardless.

to set the respawn of WorldX to WorldY:

    IN WORLDX:
    /mv modify set respawn WORLDY

    simple as that.

Just fyi, the file is now called worlds.yml (lower case) and in 99% of cases, you'll want to use the ingame commands. This just cuts out of the people mistyping yaml.
