    News

    v2.4.2 Released - 9/24/2011
See the change log for details.
Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.
As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.
This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.

    Residence Signs (by KarnEdge)

NOTE: All Residence usage information has been moved to the wiki!

    About:
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.
    Features:
    Features (open)

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.
    • Two ways to select land including using the select command, or using a item to select 2 points.
    • Messages when you enter / leave a residence. (customizable)
    • Land "leasing" system which requires users to renew the lease on their protection every X number of days or loose the protection. (off by default, see config file)
    • Recursive Sub-zoning. Create zones within zones, and then zones within those zones...
    • TONS of configuration for admins. Customize every single flag that players can or cannot use in the config file, based on their permissions group.
    • (Optional) IConomy support, can set up cost per X number of blocks protected.
    • (Optional) Permissions support.
    • In-game help / commands descriptions

    • Fixed global "container" flag bug.
    • Fixed some NPE's related to explosions.
    • Added /resload command to load the save file after you make changes to it (UNSAFE, as it does not save residences first, and so you may loose new residences that were just created)
    v2.2
    • Added per residence Blacklist/Ignorelists that will allow you to specify certain block types to be ignored from residence protections, or unable to be placed in residences.
    • Added Server owned land, use /resadmin server <residence> to change the owner to "Server Owned"

    v2.1
    • BOSEconomy support.
    • Essentials Economy support.
    • RealShop Economy support.

    • /res check [residence] [flag] <player> command, this command evaluates if <player> is affected by [flag] at [residence]. You can leave off <player> and it will use your name.
    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.
    • New healing flag.
    • The monsters flag has been split up into "animals" and "monsters" now.
    • New Developer API, including custom Bukkit events.

Would residence cause mushrooms not to spread? I have a mushroom farm and it was working fine. Now residence is installed it seems they do not spread at all. It may just be a coincidence but I thought I would ask. I never had this issue before. If residence can cause this I can start narrowing it down to permissions, flag or whatever.

are you using permissions 3.x? if not, the fix for this was posted on the previous page (legacy permissions)
try updating to cb #1000, they added in the piston event then. (as far as i know) your server's out of date. either that or get a previous version of residence off github.
    look on github.
Thats really weird, im sorry but i have no idea, maybe @bekvon has some idea whats going on.
he means your not using permissions 3.x, essentials permissions is NOT the regular permissions. (it's forked from 2.x of permissions, i.e. legacy)
you change the MaxResidences: value under each group in the config.yml
thats localization, so yes, that should be the same.

The really weird thing about Issue 1 (No Residence stuff comes up on my console as loaded/enabled, doesn't even show that it's linked to BOSEconomy) is that if I go in game and try to mark off a Residence using the plugin, it works fine. But I know it's def not linked to BOSEconomy.

As for Issue 2 (Config file not saving my changes even if the server is stopped when I edit it...) maybe I should just delete all Residence Files and start fresh?

WE's tool will override residences selection tool, best idea is to set a different item for one of them (i have the wood axe for residence and the wood sword for WE)
starting again fresh might be a good idea (completely even better. i.e. have a blank server and add plugins one by one) good luck :)

cause its cui mod(create visible grids with WE`s selection) is great.

Is there a way to improve the output of the /res market list? At the very least, there must be spaces between the property names because they all run together and are confusing people.

    can you impove /expand command?

It is so difficult to look at the exact direction evertime when using /expand command.

can you fix it like a WorldEdit?

    ex: /expand 10 up, down, S(outh), E, W, N

    Hello,

I am running the latest residence release with permissions 3, world-edit, world-guard and citizens.

    The problem is the following:
1 - The 'Dieu' group, corresponding to the admins, cannot create by default huge zones unless we use the /resadmin. Although the config specifies the ability to create 1000000000000 cubeĀ² zones...
2 - All other groups cannot create subzones inside the zone I created (as group Dieu)
3 - Getting confused with this config file, how do I allow people to teleport to their own residences but not others unless specified by /res gset groupname tp true ?
4 - Do users need to have the teleport permission node for them to teleport in residences?

Here is my config file (quite long I'm sorry): http://pastebin.com/Th2D2N8t

    These are my permissions: http://pastebin.com/cb2GU4Bp

I have no errors in my console, the plugin is loading correctly.

Thank you very much for this wonderful plugin, will surely donate ;)

Judging by the comments, this may not be possible: I want to prevent people from building in my residence, but when I rent a subzone out, I want that renter to be allowed to place items. Is this possible? Renters should be limited to their own rooms and I totally do not want to do it manually each time someone rents.

Also, where can I see a list of who's renting? After several folks rent I can't remember and it doesn't show in the info tool.

Is there any way I could get this to work with the GroupManager plugin? If not, is there a way I could get access to older versions of this plugin? I am getting an error every time somebody moves on the server:

that would be awsome, you could prob get the source (if it's avaliable) and modify it to work with residence

When you set the flags for one particular group, you get the GroupDefault section. That's where you can define if an admin can pvp in other group's residences.
    Like this:

    GroupDefault:
    admingroup:
    pvp: true

Thats what I tried originally, but it still doesn't work. :\ On the wiki it says you can't set the PVP flag for players/groups.

Oh, sorry. I thought that would do the trick seing the "Specifys the flags that are applied to other groups for this residence, at creation." in the config file.

Let's wait for an answer ;)

There is an option in the config file for this. I missed it the first time as well, but search for:
    PreventRentModify: true

Sorry to post again but does anyone know what flag causes mushrooms not to spread? I am 90% sure it is residence which is causing it. When I remove the mod the shrooms seem to grow fine.

Also is there a way for lot creators to have use of flow and pistons by default? Seems I need to turn on the flow and piston flag for all groups for them to work.

    Thanks

Figured it all out. Pistons and Flow can only be set for a whole residence and the thing that is making mushrooms not grow is the firespread false flag.

    1. thats actually too big a number lol... those values are Java Integers, which have a limit of approximatly + or - 2 billion. By setting it to that many 0's, you've over-set it and it wont take it. :)
    2. Try giving them the subzone flag, it SHOULD work, let me know again if it doesnt.
    3. CanTeleport config option gives access to the TP command it self. The person still has to have +tp flag on the residence they are trying to go to.
    4. Yup :)

Im not sure if I have a good way to list all renters... /res market info i think lists on a per residence basis. I might have to add something like that :)

Check out the red text message I added to the OP, and see if that fixes it for you :)

Ehh, not at the moment no.... might be possible to add...

Hmm.... Il see if I can fix the mushroom issue sometime... :)

I love this I really do, I have one problem that will make me remove it though, I use signs for most all my economy things, its much more simple then the commands and the chest shop or any other thing with sign get messed up with this. If you right click the sign it turns red then after that you can delete the first line and it messes everything up! I'm OP so if you say disable it in permissions it will have no effect on me! Any help? Thanks so much for the awesome plugin though!

Thanks for the answer bevkon, but there's something going on I really can't understand!
Here is my config file: http://pastebin.com/SM9gSTqn

No one can teleport, including me (unless using /resadmin)! I can't create big zones (tried 290 000). It's saying I own the max number of residences when it's set to 100 (I have 8).

This is an example residence: Mines (tp set to true, and every group tp flag set to true also).
Without /resadmin, I can't go there, neither can the other guys. (message: You dont have teleport access)

Going nuts, your help would be very appreciated !

EDIT: With that particular config file, seems I am the only one not being able to do much.

  28. hello bekvon! Thanks for the amazing plugin!
I hope I havent overseen that feature, but may I be allowed to request a feature to automatically swap all subzones of a residence to another user (or "server") when I change the residence to a different user (or "server"), plz? That would be outstandingly helpful.

Thanks alot and keep up the great work!

    Code:
    # These groups correspond to the Permissions groups defined in your '<worldname>.yml'
    Groups:
        Builder: #group name

    repeat

When I in group which have permission (ex: +use +build +move +container) I can't see my flags by "/res info" in "Your flags:" this look like as "Your flags: none"
