I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.

In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)

@DiddiZ - I'm noticing Snowblocks not being logged when broken sometimes.

    Ever seen this?

@DiddiZ - I've noticed that a lot of people have trouble with using /setting up MySQL. This is a link to a Windows-based GUI for controlling the MySQL server: http://www.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/

I've posted this because, although you can use phpMyAdmin, to do so you must be running a webserver on the computer also. I've been working with MySQL for a few years now and prefer phpMyAdmin, the MySQL Workbench is very good for those times when you don't have or can't run a web server on your computer.

    No ... not at all
It should say connection to localhost ...
    You could try:
    host: 'equestria-mc.com'

    BigRenegade

if 'equestria-mc.com does not work, then try using 127.0.0.1 which is the ip for localhost.

It turned out that it was the Ore xray plugin - causing them to break on their own, since no player was breaking it, it wasnt logged.

    @DiddiZ
However, here's an interesting thing... I'm starting to see more and more LWC chests being broken into without any report from logblock stating the date - 3rd time its happened.... I believe there are some new hacks out that bypass packets or something.

okay, I don't know where to begin with this, but I woke up this morning to find what seems like logblock has somehow, done a /rollback on the entire server. every chest had all it's items duplicated twice, and there were random blocks and crap *everywhere* that anyone had ever placed one in LBs logs, it was a mess. I only have 2 mods with LB access and neither of them did anything logblock related, any idea what could have possibly caused this?

    @DiddiZ
Hello, you plug incorrectly detects blocks of water. I poured the water, and "/ lb toolblock" check who poured it, poke it where the water has started to spread out, showing me:
    Code:
    07-28 11:54:35 pomo4ka created water

If I poke a little further from the place where he began to spread the water, shows me:
    Code:
    07-28 11:54:45 WaterFlow created water

    Thanks.

I sadly skimmed throughout the pages really quick to see if there is just a code in this that will tell you who built this certian chunk of crap with worldedit?
I dont think there is but I just wanted to see.
    :]
Great tool, But I have the trouble finding out who placed a certain block still. with 1.22 LB and #1000 CB.
Im new to running a server so Im still a dumbass when these things arise.

There is a way. I'm in contact with Afforess.
You can try if you can fix it with a redo.
From time to time i hear about magical rollbacks, but most cases turn out to be chunk corruction. So I'd guess it's a mod exceeding his authority. When you have chat logging enabled yet:
    SELECT * FROM `lb-chat` WHERE LEFT(message, 3) = '/lb';
    Looks fine. What's the problem?
    No, WorldEdit isn't logged yet.
Type "/lb tool" and rightklick the block.

    @Kainzo
Looks like a workaround is forcing players to use the contrib client mod. I know, it's most likely not a solution for you at all, but i thought i should mention it.

I am having issues where logblock stops recording to the mysql database after several hours of running. I keep having to restart the server to get it to continue logging. And when i do that i see some of the logs after that point.

    DiddiZ

Depends on your LB version. Prior v1.20 the time is only the time them the block got into database, not actual ehn it was broken.
And obvously you can't have logcreeperexplosionsasplayerblablubb enabled.
It's a missing null pointer check, only affects not logged worlds, so nothing to worry about.
    Most recent LB version?

    1. Can this be run in parallel with BigBrother?
    2. How do I restore the contents of chests?

Yes, I am here because of the signs/chests being erased in random chunks bug.

With normal rollback, but for a single chest it's easiest to use rollback tool mode.
    /lb t
    /lb t mode rollback
    click the chest
    /lb t default
    1. Yes
    2. Like above, but use mode redo
