Hello, My server is preparing to undergo a major change: implementation of an economy (iConomy, or possibly BOSE) into all server functions. However, we've encountered some problems as some plugins, that we're looking for, don't exist. We have 2 Computer Science major looking into the plugins, but they have never coded for minecraft before so I am left to desire something more. The plugins I'm looking for are as follow, and if anyone is interested, I could send you a more thorough explanation via Email or Voice Chat (such as Ventrilo or Skype): - A Global Market plugin with multiple tiers, accessible by Permission groups or via Permission nodes. The Plugin should feature global commands, so you can /buy or /sell to the market anywhere in the world. -----Basically, we're looking for a plugin that will allow us to set up different markets, each with individual pricing, that are accessible via Permission Nodes. This way, we can restrict certain markets to certain Permission Groups. - A plugin that pays each Permission Group a percentage (%) of their money every specified time interval (Basically customizable interest rates for each Permission Group) -----iConomy has an interest system built it, but it is the same interest rate for each group (unless I am mistaken). I want to give each group a different interest rate. Finally, and I'm not sure how legal/acceptable this is: A customization of EpicZones that will integrate iConomy (or BOSEconomy) so that users will be able to set zones for sale and purchase them, using commands. (Like Residence). I do not plan on releasing any of these plugins, especially the EpicZones customization, for obvious reasons. Also, I am willing to financially compensate anyone who helps develop the plugins. Cheers
What's the point of different markets via permission nodes, if someone has the cheapest node they'll just go for the cheapest price. Would it not be better to have customisable price multipliers based on permission nodes? There are several per-group interest paying plugins, I can't remember any offhand but writing one would be super simple. What's wrong with iZones?
The shops and interest are for donators: As you donate, you'll get a higher interest rate and items in shop will cost less. I planned to give each group a shop permission and restrict their access to any other shop group. This way donators could only access their level (can't flip to other levels) and builders could only access their level, etc. A multiplier could work too, where it would decrease the price for higher groups. There would just be one shop in that case though, correct? If so, that could work too. And concerning iZones: We already use WorldEdit and what were looking for in an area protection Plugin is stricty area protection, not cuboiding features. We curretly use Residence and it suits us very well, but it'd prefer polygonal regions, which EpicZones has (along with HeroChat integration). EpicZones seems exactly like Residence, except that it has no economy. I'd really like to use EpicZones, but I need it to be integrated with iConomy so users can buy and sell zones, with commands.
A multiplier per group would be very easy to add to any existing shop plugin - as for iConomy integration for EpicZones - ask on the EpicZones thread.
I may be available for some of the smaller scale plugins... I'm currently a freshman in high school but i have taken three computer science classes through Stanford so I would prefer to have some help although I have made plugins for my own server. So send me a message sometime then.
If you could create a multiplier per group for a simple global market, like GlobalShop, that'd be perfect, along with a plugin to give different percentage interest rates to each permission group. I posted my request for iConomy implementation to the EpicZones thread yesterday, but the thread has had no further activity. EpicZones doesn't seem to have receieved any updates, though I don't think it needs any, except iConomy implementation. Would it be possible to integrate iConomy into EpicZones if I receive no response in the next few days, once again, so users can buy and sell land, like how it is in Residence.
No clue I assume the other two computer science majors are working on somethings themselves? I'll see what I can do about the global shop though.
They're looking into a globalshop Plugin, but they've never coded for multiplayer and they're primary concerns are elsewhere. They're not too reliable atm. @skeletonofchaos and @codename_B Thank you for your interest. Hopefully the plugins will come out great!
EpicZones is no longer being updated, as I don't have time to work on it, and no established devs want to pick it up. It is however, open source so if somebody wanted to try to add iConomy or any economy support, they are more than welcome to.
Thanks jblaske. @codename_B or @skeletonofchaos Would either of you be willing /capable of integrating buy/sell commands and iConomy into EpicZones?
I was just told they have the dynamics (or was it variables?) done for the shop plugin. If you, or anyone else, want to help out, please send me a message and I can put you in touch the two programmers working on it, from my server. We can also discuss business, if you so wish, but send me a message if you're interested.
On a completely different note I'm currently working on a plugin to generate abandoned cities for players to explore as soon as I get this done I will be more than willing to help.
Oooh, if you finish that i want to see source + use Would you mind if you share some source for a herobrine plugin? xD
If it would make it easier for anyone, I think the "per-group-multipliers" for global shop would work well, like what codename_b suggested. If anyone starts working on one of the plugins, please message me so I am aware. Thanks
