    Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

    People can't log into my 1060 Bukkit Server!:
    Are you using spout? If so, you need to upgrade it to a dev version or disable it until those guys release a 1060 compatible version.

    How do I know if I'm running CB XXXX or higher?:
    Type /version. The number here is your CB version:

    Today's MV2 News
    - MVPurge and MVModify are officially in and working in the Dev Builds!
    - 3 new styles of respawing:
    - none: You will always respawn in the world you died in
    - default: You will always spawn in a given default world when you die (how Notch's does not)
    AND
    - all*: If you die in A nether world, MV will search for a linked normal world. If it finds one, you'll spawn there, otherwise you can go to hell. (you literally respawn in the hell you died in)

    Now some of you may be confused why I added that asterisk (read below). This is because we're allowing you to set a config variable in Multiverse-Core that will actually trickle down to a Multivers plugin: Multiverse-NetherPortals. If you set the value to "all" and don't have Multiverse-NetherPortals installed, have no fear, Multiverse 2 won't crash, it'll just default to the none behavior.

    So you can die, and return to the normal world. Funny that often times people believe when you die in the normal world, you could go to hell, not the other way around. Would be handy to have this plugin IRL yeah?

    Is there a reason you posted a known minecraft/Bukkit error here? Has nothing to do with Multiverse.
     
  7. Er, I'll take a look at it for 2, just got done with a bunch of advanced respawn methods, shouldn't be tough to add one more.

    EDIT: Just got done messing around with beds on a vanilla bukkit server (no plugins) and they seem to be failing miserably. I'll see about adding some MV magic to that.

    Dunno if you'll be able to try out MVNetherPortals, the later builds have been failing due to a build error (not in the code) that Rigby's trying to get worked out. You can try an Old version of NP, but I dunno if it'll be compatible with the latest MVCore, and you definitely want the latest core.

    Ok, I ran just Multiverse Core (2dev) and MVPortal and players were still getting kicked. I'm just going to disable it all together and see what happens. I have a feeling that it has to do with something else I'm running, and the fact that they're kicked is the only reason MV is giving the errors.

    I have world, world_nether and world2.
    Netherportals from world2 lead to world_nether - even if I specify "netherx" - a unknown world - as the nether.
    I don't want that. How do I prevent it?
    Will this be an option? To specify which world uses which nether? Or to prevent nether portals working in one world?
    Are there other plugins I can use to prevent nether portals from working in certain worlds?

    Love seeing the progress in MV2, and thanks for taking a look at Bed spawning, as I've found it pretty essential to the gameplay just before installing MV.

    Beds failing may be partly an issue with Bukkit's multiworld implementation, since the record of where the player's last bed was will be lost when Bukkit teleports them to another world.

    No matter what i do, my /mvpc create refuses to create a portal. I select the area I want with the wand tool, even change the selected area with //set commands to confirm i have the right area, i then run the "/mvpc testportal" and it says "you have not set your co-ordinates yet" . Ive had this issue from when i first installed MV during 1.6.6 and have been unable to get it too work, wondering if there might be some addon conflict error, but nothing seems obvious too me?

    I think I found it. Removed NoCheat and players stopped getting kicked. No errors from MV or anything else. Dev2 seems to be working well also. I'll keep testing it and let you know what I find.

    Portal in world -> world_nether

    Portal in world2 -> world2_nether

    This works in MV2

    Cool, just wanted to make sure I wasn't reinventing the wheel. I'll work on it sometime. Progress is gonna be slow this weekend, flying out to see family.

    On this note, I'd just like to Thank @Maxis010 for all of his help on the forums AND for being the first Multiverse 2 Quality Assurance Agent (MV2QAA). He's helping immensly to make sure Rigby and I don't mess up too badly...

    what do you do if you have a new world lets say called survival you make it then you decide you want explore nether for that world you make a nether world how do you make it so the survival world connects to that nether world?

    ok, i just updated to MC 1.7.2 (B#953) and nearly everything is working fine. I have 3 Worlds + 1 nether running in multiverse, since the update to #935 (and now #953) my world3 is not working, but all other worlds work. When i type '/mvtp world3' i get teleported to my first world. So i tried to delete the world3 from my server and import it again after a reboot. Ok, i typed '/mvremove world3' and it said my world is removed from multiverse and that a have to reboot. I stopped the Server and deleted the world3 folder. But when i started the server again there was the folder again! I tried this several times. But each time when i started the server it regenerated the world3 folder, (with nothing in it) and the world showed up in /mvlist again. I just can't delete this f*****g world from my server and i cannot tp to it! HELP!!
    edit: ohh, and when someone ,who was on world3 before the update, joines the game he dies without a reason and gets respawned on the first world.

    This may or may not belong here, but it is related to this plugin..
    I am looking for a way to have 1 server, with 2 maps. Map 1 is fully creative and users can give themselves items, warp, etc (this is already setup with the correct permissions and such) and then Map 2 is a completely stripped of all permissions survival world only.
    The issue I run into, when users teleport from Map 1 to Map 2, items stay with them. So they can simply teleport into Map 1, give themselves diamond tools and any materials they need, then teleport to Map 2 and use them, thus circumventing the whole idea of the survival map.
    I need something that when they pass through the teleporter from Map 1 to Map 2, that their items are stripped, or that each map has seperate inventories.

    Instead of using forum search, try the dedicated plugin search.

    The appearance of Skylands is nothing to do with its seed; it uses a different world generator than the regular world, just as the nether uses a different world generator. Thus, if you want one with huge stone "legs", then you don't actually want a Skylands world at all and will have to hunt around for and/or request a custom generator.

    pls update to the latest build i dont know if the build is the problem but it creates maps and portals just like normal
    but in a weird way the maps are not listed but the portals are getting listed :S i think its the build
