Inactive [CHAT] nChat 0.8 - Barebones chat [1.2.4-R1.0]

You put in the message format +prefix somewhere or +suffix and then in those variables in the Permissions config, you put &1 or some color code like that.

An update to this is coming soon! Custom join and leave messages and Permissions 3.0 support is coming.

Mixing FakeMessage and nchat I see.

 

No no no. Custom join and leave messages is when an ACTUAL player joins and leaves

Hey guys, I am having some problems with this problem and I guess permissions 2.7.1. Whenever I type a "&" or a "+" into my permissions config file or your config.ymal file, weird things happen. With the "&" symbol, I just used your plugin to change the symbol to "~". However, I am unable to get around the + sign problem. Any suggestions. I am not really sure what things you need to know, but I can post whatever you need.

when ever a user joins the server, a back transparent box appears which should have the text: <player> has joined. but there is no text. The problem goes away when I disable nChat.
Using: Bukkit 860 and Permissions 3

 

Make sure the joinmessage & leavemessage in the configuration are both set to '' (two single quotes)

 

Simple and lightweight. I like it. Works great on Permissions 3.1.5

 

I tried nChat 0.5 with Permissions 3.1.5b and it takes prefix and suffix correctly but always displays "Visitor" (our default group) as the group name. No errors and using default config.yml. We don't have any user with multiple groups assigned.

Put the group name in the prefix now and changed the config so it works now for us, but I thought you might want to know it.

 

Does this work with Permissions 3.0a? I'm only getting "Could not pass event PLAYER_CHAT to nChat" (MC 1.6.6, Bukkit 860).

Can you add a feature so that the names also change colour? So the Prefix Suffix and name can all be coloured?

So the &f is the thing that makes everything coloured?

 

The &f changes to white so I don't need to set &f in all my suffixs, I have another one in my prefix to change my name to blue

Using permissions 3.1.5b I have all my permissions set in globalGroups.yml however nChat doesn't seem to recognise this and instead is using whatever is in the world/groups.yml

 

Exactly, i'm having this issue also.

 

I'm going to fix it soon. My router broke a few hours ago so it will probably take a while, though.

It supports but does not require permissions, if you do not use permissions then you might as well remove the +prefix and +suffix tags as they won't do anything

Awesome man! Was looking for something barebones with color support. This is exactly what I needed.

Join and leave messages are not being correctly parsed
I suspect it is the lack of spacing around the entries as +name parsed correctly but +prefix, +group, +suffix and +world did not
Will test and confirm shortly
EDIT: Nope, even when spaced out only +name was parsed

 

Yes, this was done on purpose. I'll update it to fix this and get that Permissions bug fixed.
