    PuddiChat
    v 1.1

    A short description:
This plugin acts like the puddi filter that moot put on /b/ some time a while back. It basically replaces every word with the word "puddi" and a few common words with "Giga". It was in reference to a Japanese product called "Giga puddi", which had a very annoying (in my opinion at least) advertisement which was posted on /b/ by Moot.

    Download:
    Download PuddiChat.zip (.jar)

    Commands:
/puddi - Toggle the puddi filter on and off.
/leetspeak - Toggle the leetspeak filter on and off.

    Permissions:
This plugin supports the Permissions plugin. If you do not have Permissions installed, Ops will be allowed to perform any command in this plugin and will be exempt from filters. Below are the permissions nodes to add for this plugin.

    Permissions nodes (open)

    PuddiChat.puddi
    PuddiChat.leetspeak
    PuddiChat.exempt

    Known bugs:
    - None yet.

    Changelog:
    v 1.1:
    - Added leetspeak filter.
    - Added exemption from filters.
    v 1.0:
    - Initial release.

Updated, and I understand it can be a nuisance, but I don't see why it should be banned if there is a clear alternative. That way people can at least bypass the adf.ly page if they don't want to bother with it.

this is covered in the link I gave you :)

All I've gotten out of it is that adf.ly links are banned, and EvilSeph refuses to discuss the issue despite people suggesting an alternative to adf.ly in their posts.

@Plague Sorry to argue this but...

It wouldn't be unpleasant with the main download as a non-adfly link. That way people don't download via adfly if they don't want to. They'd have to click another, less obvious link if they wanted to use adfly to contribute to the dev by using adfly. Normally, I would have dropped this argument by now, but adfly is currently my only source of income due to various issues in my life and I'd like to keep it to make a few bucks on the side of what I'm doing here. I don't wish to force people to use adfly, I simply think they should have an option to use it.

We are not arguing, since EvilSeph made the rule and I'm just enforcing it ;)

Well either way, I'd like my opinion to at least be considered.

This doesn't work for me. Is it supposed to create a blank config file?

  10. Offline

    Taco

It is, I don't have anything to put in the config yet. Can you elaborate a bit more on "This doesn't work"?

It's quite simple, really. I type /puddi, it says "Puddi puddi!" and then everyone talks just fine. Nobody has the exempt permission. I get no errors or anything.

I'll look into this. That's quite odd.

I just tested this on cb 860. It worked fine for me. What version of craftbukkit are you running?

I'm running 860. Do you want me to get you my plugin list?

That'd be helpful. I'm not sure why it isn't working for you. It works fine for me.

@Taco : #766 inactive, text color is wrong, adfly is banned, remove your adfly, download section must be second or third in list. At top, at least.

Your "zip download" is a .rar file? Also, please test against latest RB.

The title was supposed to say 860, and I'll test against the latest rb later today. I fixed the download link, I posted the wrong one.

Holy f*** I tried it today and never had to laugh so hard in a long time - 50 people suddenly going puddi was epic. And normally I dont like these things, but this was great!

I'm glad this plugin is appreciated :p I didn't expect anyone to use this really, (I made it for the lulz) but it seems to have taken off quite nicely.

Well, I also only used it once for lulz, but quite the lulz we had!

If you really wanna work on this anymore - make the things adjustable, a config file where you can define words that are being said for a certain command, and so on.

But its not really worth the effort for a one-time-use fun plugin :D

I do plan on adding more, but at the moment I have another plugin I'm writing that will be released soon. It's not a lulzy plugin like this, it's much more practical and is taking quite a bit. :p

    Ehh... /puddi and /leetspeak sends a on/off message... that's it... Shouldn't it make you say Puddi/things in 1337?

If you have the puddichat.exempt node, you won't be affected. If that's not the case, post your craftbukkit version and I'll take a look.

Is the puddi filter enabled for EVERYONE when an admin type the /puddi command? Because if so, its really funny but useless.
What id like ( tell me if that's already what it does) would be that when someone have the permission and type /puddi, everyone that does not have the exempt node see only HIS messages as Puddi. It would be useful if mods and admin want to talk together without other understanding a single word of what they're saying.
