Question Failed to bind to port

    I can't get my server to come up because it always says "failed to bind to port" I looked through task manager and there were no java processes going on. I do not understand how to fix this!

    @climbthegrind If you did happen to fill the server IP value in the server.properties: empty it and try again.

    I emptied it and put the ip back in and it still says it.

    You don't need to put an IP there. That is the thing. Keep it empty, forever.

    I emptied it and it won't let people connect. I already port forwarded.

    Can you connect to your external IP?

    No only the local ip

    And you found that how? Is that the one from cmd or not?

    I typed that wrong I can connect to the IPV4 adress

    And what do you get if you try to connect to your external IP?

    It says io.netty thing and connection timed out. I let java through my firewall though
