I wanna host a minecraft server on mini-pc with core i5 4200u (1.6 Ghz, Turboboost- 2,66 Ghz) with 8 Gb ram, 32 Gb ssd and good internet connection. Can my processor keep 50 players on bukkit server 1.7.10

@Wido007 I would say no. Your processor will be too weak, you may not have enough RAM, and your drive is far too small.

8 Gb ram is not enough and 32 Gb ssd is not enough for one bukkit 1.7.10 server with 50 slots??? Are you seriously?!

@Wido007 the RAM probably is, that largely depends on your plugins. However, you will find the SSD may start to fill after a few months as your worlds grow. If you use a world border plugin that limits the size of your world files, you should be okay.

Clear out the log files every once in a while. They get big fast.

Is this configuration will be better for server, then [i5 4200u (1.6 Ghz, Turboboost- 2,66 Ghz) with 8 Gb ram, 32 Gb ssd], and what configuration is more better of them:

    Intel Core i3-550
    6 GB DDR3
    HDD: 250 GB

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
    6 GB
160 GB HDD SATA II S.M.A.R.T

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300
    6 GB
160 GB HDD SATA II S.M.A.R.T

    Intel Xeon X3220 2.4 GHz
    6 GB
    500 GB

I have a pc with core i3-2120, 4 Gb ram and 250 Gb HDD. How many players can it handle, if I use bukkit 1.7.10 (40 plugins)? And how many players it can keep with 8 Gb ram, 16 Gb ram, 32 Gb ram???

There is no way to precisely say what you will be able to support. However, here are the things you need to consider
    1. Chunks: The more chunks and the more worlds you have loaded, the more memory this will take up. Try not to have a lot of chunks loaded.
    2. Plugins: Most "official" plugins and those with a lot of downloads most likely are written well. That means most of your plugins will not use that much memory. However, if you have badly written plugins, they can be a massive memory hog. Although this will be hard to figure out if a plugin is wasting a lot of memory, keep this in mind.
    3. Players: They actually do not take up that much memory. Most of their calculations are done on their side. The server is only really there to send the data to the other players. The lag that most players receive that they thing is caused by players are actually caused on their computer not being able to handle the calculations, not because of the server.
    4. Other programs: If you have other programs running, you may be taking memory space and processing power away from your server.

Depends on your settings, other programs running, plugins, amount of worlds.
There is no exact number, best way to find out is by trying.

@Wido007 We can't say yes or no to that.
    And why Authme?

    Wido007

Why not? It's a most popular authorization plugin

Because online mode requires the need for an authentication plugin as the server does it for you.
Authme notifies me of the possibility for offline mode which is unsupported by Bukkit.

    Wido007

    And what does it mean?

  17. Offline

    timtower Administrator Administrator Moderator

That you can remove Authme if you are gonna run online-mode = true.
Or that it will get locked when online-mode = false

    Wido007

So I use online-mode = false. And I can delete it, because it not needed?

    Locked.
Offline mode is not supported by Bukkit.
