    Description:

    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Suggestions of mods to port
      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    Yes, your players will need to install the client mod or they will crashed when trying to join the server.

    it can be done with a mod on the client, it can also be done with a mod on server packets and a way toverify that a client can use the ids. But thats just too much work for me now...
     
  5. The server you are trying to connect to is running a mod that you have not installed the client-side files for.
    If the server is running itemcraft with kslopes, then you need to install the client-side kslopes files. If the server is running itemcraft, kslopes and mo creatures, then you need to install the client-side files for kslopes and mo creatures, etc. So, you need to check with your server admin to see which mods they have running, then install the client-side files for each mod in order to join your server.
    The links for the client-side files you will need are in the initial post at the top of this page.

    Love this mod - I've seen some posts about mo creatures horses. I've noticed that the clients don't appear to be sync'd - for example, I could see a pegasus horse, whilst someone else looking at the same horse sees a plain brown horse. Also, being unable to ride them we can't tame them, so we can't make a stables & keep them because they keep de-spawning.
    My apologies because I haven't read every page yet of this thread, but is this on your 'fix-able' list. Other than that, things are going great. Are there any more mod ports in the pipeline please ? Even when they're not 100%, it is still good to see a single player mod on multi-player - I really had been looking for a way to use Kslopes SMP, which this allows. I also wanted plasticcraft, but I realise thats a much bigger task.

    the normal procedure on my server is like -> join ... blah blah, 5 seconds later, crash. join ... crash, ect. the ppl are too stupid to lookup my website if i have modified something.

    But i'm dubiously on new command script !
    Need only put script in scripts directory ? can take any name ?

    Could you produce some examples ?
    I can't use any gui interface on my server.

    addcraftrecipe command have 3 differents way ?
    i see in documentation plenty of <int> <int> <int> but this integer describe what ?
    Object ? is id of craft ? what is boolean ?
    without more information, i can't use this :( i think more people are lost...

    script is undergoing change again. I'm switching over to postfix completely. I was trying to fix the potted plants by using the script and noticed it screwed up with ambiguous names and using the stack when there are no arguments left on the command line. There were also other known issues with the mixed form script such as new lines in {} style strings. I wanted to implement a form of intellisense with the GUI and it doesn't jive well with that either. Its also more difficult to parse out some abstract code that will run faster than reparsing every time. So I just dropped it. Postfix makes everything so much easier. Documentation will be added later.

    i get a sealing violation: cant seal package or something, that is not fixed by putting java -jar whatever.jar; whatever.jar something.something.something.main

    i get that error when meta-inf isnt deleted.

    so i delete meta-inf and it gives me the nosuchmethod error.

    cant get the mods to work on the new build had no problems with the other builds dont know y there not working any advice on how to get them working even tried manually putting them int the jar and server just crashes instinly

    1.2 is out. The script file format has changed so the old scripts will not work. You will have to autocreate them. Good news is though that when you autocreate, it will ask you if you want to continue. Press ctrl+c or just close the window. Then edit the startup file, uncomment the plugins you use (add ids if necessary) and start again.

    I'm not sure it can even be done and if it could I wonder if it's even possible to run smootly.

    SuperSlopes and Nandonalts trees don't have 1.5_01 compatible versions for download... Only 1.6.6
    With superslopes, he has a link to itemcraft, but no link to a 1.5_01 compatible mod

    This makes it hard, if not impossible, to test those two for itemcraft..

    But, once itemcraft gets updated to 1.6 we won't be able to use mo's creatures untill that's updated..

    I was wondering.... Say I intstall the FancyPack mod and place items around. Then the mod breaks or I go without mods on the server like when it will switch to MC 1.7 . Will the server think theses items are still there?
    I'm worried that if the items are there and the mod breaks for one reason or another, my server will also break because the server goes "aahhh!! what's this thing in me?! it's there! i know it's there! but I don't know what it is!! " *dies*

    The blocks will disappear if they are loaded. The items can cause the client to crash. I havent' tested whether it will crash the server. You can always empty them from your inventory before you upgrade.

    @asdaarg great work on the mod, coming around very nicely, just a couple question for you. I am starting a new map and would to include some new blocks and such using this mod, but due to the fixes of ore generation in 1.6 I would like to use 1.6 for the new map. Do you have an ETA on when this will be updated? Also for further updates will they be about the same time between updating? Or will it be relatively easy for you to update in a day or two after patches? I ask because I would like to know what to tell people for turn around time after updates. As once you start using IC the server will basically revolve around it's update cycle.

    The client does crash when removing itemcraft, but only with the items in the inventory/chests or dropped, already placed blocks simply disappear. Beware, for as I said if you open a chest with itemcraft items after removing the plugin, the client will crash every time you do it. This also happens if you break the chest with those items. DO NOT break the chest. The client will continually crash, as the server will detect the itemcraft items on the floor.
