Filled Underneath

Suggested name: Underneath

What I want:

A simple plugin that block straight pillaring up (jumping and placing a block directly beneath the player) and blocks breaking blocks directly beneath the player. That is all!

Requirements:

Build against 1.7.10

No permissions or command needed.

When I'd like it by: As soon you can!

A recommendation to any devs who do build this: Permission for bypassing this plugin. Maybe have a set number of max blocks broken/placed in a vertical line defined in the config (when building houses for example, building straight up is common).

 

Thank you for your feedback. I think the bypass is not really needed as everyone is block from doing this but it can be useful. Building straight up is common but I want players to build smart. Think about how to build a wall before stacking blocks right where they are standing. That's the intended of this request.

 

Won't people just move over to the side a block or two and continue? If I was building a cobblestone pillar to get somewhere and I couldn't "nerd pole" for more than 30 blocks, I would just move slightly to the side every 25 blocks or so and continue so the checks fail, effectively dodging the plugin and making the poles uglier than normal.

 

How about block builds on air? I think this would take care of this.

 

There's plenty of legitimate cases where builders would do that

I think we decided that this project isn't "simple", didn't we?

 

You could check if they have jumped, then check if their pitch is lower than a certain amount.

 

maybe they just can't place a block while they are jumping.

Then what was? The fact that builders wouldn't be able to build on top of another block if they're looking down at it an jumping at the same time?

The fact that this solution is completely superfluous, and would require blocking more than just simple vertical pillars.

Might just wanna confirm with @madtomic at this point to make sure he's fine with just blocking that

 

Yeah. Well if you had a check for an actual pillar it would be easy to by bypass.

I think simply block breaking and placing blocks if the builder is looking down at it and jumping at the same time(placing).
