Leather to Diamond

What I want: All I want is to be able to have leather act like diamond e.g. they have the same durability, damage intake. So basically Diamond armour but in leather form (this is so the armour can be dyed and can be unique colours compared to the normal blue colour of diamond armour). I'm not sure this is possible but if it is someone help me out?

No permissions
No commands other than a /lda reload (Leather diamond armour reload)
when I'd like it by: Whenever.

That's not really possible without some kind of retexturing - a job that would take a really long time and then you wouldn't have whichever blocks were retextured.

 

I'm not looking to re-texture I just want the same values in armour that diamond has but in leather, there's a plugin called "HeroArmour" it changes the strength of armour but it doesn't work as well as I like.

It's doable, but you have to basically re-write the armour damage reduction calculations I think

This is a difficulty task, someone MIGHT take this up.
One question, why do you need this plugin?

 

I am not sure if that is even possible, but i could imagine just sending wrong armor informations to the Client is easier then coding a New armor.
If that does even work.
