Hello, for some reason in my server I get lag at the /spawn. Anywhere else in the server it is fine.

    Test it at IP: pewcraft.net

I really need some help debunking this issue as it is serious and I do not want to have to start a new map or anything.

Any bugs, or messages come up at all?
Have you tried setting spawn elsewhere and trying.
It might just be that chunk perhaps??

No messages, also. It is not the actual /spawn command it is just the area of the map lags. I do have two stargates near each other as well as quite a bit of torches. But, I don't see how it could cause lag.

How close are the stargates i had it before that i had too many teleports near each other the paths would sometimes get crossed and error, or it would lag. It might be a case of not enough ram, perhaps all that happening in close proximity is too much.

There is plenty of ram and even with 20 players online I am using 4GB with all my plugins that I use. Come take a look at the stargates. Join pewcraft.net and walk though the tutorial zone thing and there they are. That is usually where it lags.

Just went online, u werent there so i left. But i can see the problem, it was a little laggy for me. Mainly because the water, torches and gates all add up. Thats alot of stuff in one place. The torches and water is probs what it is if its not anywhere else.

Okay thanks, I will try removing them and see if thats the problem. It is only that one area that lags so that must be what it is.

No probs, if you still have the problem i will make another visit to see if i cant figure it out,

We'll get to the bottom of this.

Okay, thanks. I have removed torches. But, seems to not lag now, we will wait a bit and see.

Okay, lag is back. I told everyone to come to /spawn and yes. It came back. Torches didn't do anything. What next?

Hey man i just went on, seems laggy everywhere i go, also found 2 chunks corrupted.
As you leave the spawn entrance go forward and right, past castle and i saw a whole chunk missing just a gaping hole. Have you noticed this at all?

No, might be just your connection. This server is hosted in the US on some pretty damn tuff optimized hardware. So I don't see it lagging. It only lags at spawn around the stargate area.

Right now I only have two solutions.

#1 being a total map reset.

#2 being moving spawn and deleting the old spawntown with MCEdit.

It is being voted on, on our forums.

There where alot of glowstone right? Try to remove them.

Removed some, But how would it effect the server? I mean the server is only using 20% CPU and 2.54GB Ram with 5/50 players currently and a Ventrilo server running in background. Don't see any real lag evidence.

What do you guys think, should I just do a map reset?

Because lighting takes alot of power/performance.

Server has 16GB ram and 3.3GHz 6Core CPU. Or,does that not matter with a Minecraft server? I do know a Minecraft server is not multicore YET.
