Anyone have any ideas on if this could be a future update for Citizens?

  3. Maybe when the plugin is finished, but probably not.

  4. I am just trying to make your job easier, what people do and should do are two different things, having it in the post would help.

If you want people to read the FAQ you should probably link to it somewhere, its not in the post or on the wiki home page. I didn't even know it existed until now and even then it took me a good 5 mins to find it. (just happend to see it in the recent activity tab)

When people won't read the post right above theirs, they really won't read the original post. I do wish there was a solution to the problem though.

I agree, some of the recent posts by the devs are pretty uncalled for. This is a plugin that EVERYONE is waiting for. What the hell do you guys expect? for everyone just to sit around and twiddle their thumbs... give me a break.

Honestly, this will help a lot. People get antsy when they hear "soon", so telling people nothing is honestly the way I would go if I were in your shoes. Release when it's ready and that's enough :p

I will say with the track record, however, this is not the most stable plugin... And I mean that with all due credit and respect. As soon as minequest creates npc nodes, or as soon as another npc plugin is fixed and/or created most of us will likely use that one instead in order to ensure our npc content remains without 2-3 week gaps during mandatory updates (mandatory simply because bukkit is patching duplication exploits that could ruin our servers.)

I do appreciate all the work this team is doing, though, and I think when the plugin does work it's extremely intuitive compared to the others. There is a lot of potential, now all it needs is stability if it strives to be a community plugin. The community is served by developers, however, so in my opinion those who demand updates should realize that they are acting quite childish. I understand that "soon" irritates people, and I wont say that this particular action is what i'm on about, but for those screaming UPDATE NAO, come on guys... seriously? They owe you nothing! In fact... you owe THEM something if anything.

Anyway, this is the story of bukkit... it's hard on developers and admins alike to create stability with the ever-fluctuating game we all enjoy on a regular basis. I suppose we're all just holding out hope that Notch will become more reasonable (and less of a child himself,) and that bukkit will evolve into a more finished product very soon. Cheers to that future. When or if that day comes, I hope developers who can bring this level of intuition into our game play like the developers of this plugin will remain.

I think that can be done once the bulk of features are out of the way :)

The only reason why release is getting held back is because our wonderful team of testers has found some last-minute bugs with traders. Don't worry, this next version will be stable, feature-rich, and 100% better than the version before it.

    @LucidLethargy

The switch from 1.4 to 1.5 took awhile due to the NPClib being updated so slowly. If you do end up making the switch to another NPC plugin, you most likely would have to wait just as long for that one to update, as they all rely on the NPClib to function. Luckily, the transition from 1.5 to 1.6 won't be as slow as it was before because our dev team won't be away during the update.

In addition, stability will be one of the big features coming with the next update. :p

Oddly enough it took me almost as long to just get a stable server up since other plugins were being updated every 3 days... always causing one that was dependent to break...

So no rush.. ... but i'd like at least 2 weeks of vacation before 1.6 comes out when you do get them working... XD

It boggles the mind how people get so entitled to free things others voluntarily work on.

Oh em jee! When will this plugin EVAR come out!?!

Naw, just kidding, I'm really looking forward to this, but I guess patience is the word today...

Still... If I held my breath REAL HARD... would it make it go faster?

Thanks for working so hardcore on a plugin... that's hardcore.

okay this started off as a joke but now i'm thinking it might actually be a good idea:
create another bukkit thread with for it in this thread. This way you know when somebody actually needs help with something, and when somebody just didnt bother reading the info

    addition to my other
post because it was unclear: make another thread called: "Citizens for literate people" (or something a bit nicer if you prefer). in the info say something along the lines of that that would be the actual forum for
people needing help. then, ignore this forum and pay attention to the other forum.
this way you know when people actually need help

I've got this "An internal error occured while attempting to perform this command." bug but I was able to fix it. All I did was that I only installed the .jar file and let it create the citizens folder by itself. Then it worked for me.

Hope this will work for others as well

.......... Go ahead and be happy.

    >_> I prefer this anyways. Seems a lot more... clean. and like they actually care about having a decently bug-free plugin.
