I was browsing a friends server the other day and noticed they had a mod called RealTree installed, but he uses Canary (*spits* charlatan!) which would force trees to act like Cactuses. In the sense you knock down the bottom most block and the tree comes crashing down like a cactus. I looked at the Canary thread for the mod and the guy who programmed it said it was fairly easy to do. Although I have no java programming experiance, I can just about program my washing machine! Would this be something people would be interested in for bukkit? This is a really good idea. And floating trees (I really hate them) will not be a problem anymore. I have a lot to do at the moment, but if nobody else does this I will try to create the plugin. But it will probably not be until June.
I like the idea, so I guess I'm on it. The logs being destroyed should be easy, the check if it's really a tree might take a bit of code.

I have installed this and have been testing this like theres no tomorrow! I have noticed that this mod does not effect planted trees by players. Is it possible to extend the mod to cover planted trees?
It does work on planted trees and the code doesn't actually have anything to do with planted or unplanted trees.
