    TeslaCoil - Tesla Coil mob control:
    Version: v2.6.2

    Usage: the player must construct a tower of no less than 3 iron(configurable) blocks, and connect this directly to a redstone current. While the current is active, all mobs within a radius proportionate to the height of the coil (3 blocks high = 3 block radius), above or below ground, will be fried. The towers ping every second, so mobs chasing you will quickly regret it

    i need to get back to use numberic teslaradius or it will get this

    since I installed your plugin, I haven't seen a mob on my entire server...

    EDIT: Seems to be working now that I restarted the server -- so may not be related to your plugin :)

    I have become aware of this, and it pertains to a policy of Windows to protect files that are in use. Linux doesn't have this problem, but I'm contemplating a workaround.

    I have a slight problem, when lightning hits a pig it spawned around 30 pigmen. anyway of making it to lightning cant strike pigs?

    The plugin doesnt do anything at all for me.. When I start up the server after adding the jar file, it shows in the console that it loaded the jar, but when I build a tower in game, its just an iron tower... Ive spawned mobs right next to it. Nothing. Ive changed the config to teslaradius=false and built a fairly large tower to see if it would get anything else.
    still just an iron tower...
    Ive gotten no errors or anything in the console though..

    Luckily your talented plugin inventor is insanely brilliant. [/sarcasm]
    Version 1.3.3 works. I promise.

    Pig Zombies are currently client-side, so if you log out and back in they will be gone. The lightning does kill all the real Pig Zombies for now.

    Is it being powered directly? A redstone current running right into the bottom block, or a lever mounted on the side will power it.

    Also that was a...lightning strike fast bugfix for me..

    Now waiting for something like player-targets and a OP controlled whitelist or something...

    It was being powered, but I think it was a glitch in my server itself.. as when I restarted it again after setting it up, it worked fine. a derp moment there.

    Could a vertical radius be added? I have a floating building, and it's striking mobs that are over 30 blocks beneath it.

    I'm having an issue with the coils not continuing to function. I set a tower of 4 Iron blocks and then a single red wire and a redstone torch.

    It will zap the first mob, but then stop working until I power it off (kill the redstone torch) and power it back on.

    Any ideas?

    No, are there any errors in the console?
    Also, 1.3.4 uploaded, incorporates a vradius= property to set the radius affected on the Z (height) axis.

    It seems to repeatedly attempt to murder pet wolves. It doesn't work, so it just keeps spamming them with lightning. I'm running McMMO, if that has any thing to do with it.

    2 things.

    1. Permission Support

    2. Tesla Coils strike anything not in the builders Permission Group. I say this so players of different Factions can have and build Tesla Coils to keep out enemies.

    EDIT:
    Btw I forgot to ask, does this strike like, animals too or just monsters?
    For that Striking enemies buisness.
    I'd grather have the ability to add targets for the tesla by signs...
    Seeing you need atleast 3 blocks = 12 signs max.
    Every sign has 4 lines so.
    48 possible targets by default.

    And I mean like.
    Put on a sign that eigther has a permission group, playername, monsters/animal name or simply monsters/animals.

    That be like, hardcore. XD I know, I want to make simple shiz like a billion times more complicated.
    Just saying.

    Love this plugin but it somehow turned one pig into about 15 zombie pigmen when it got struck by lightning, could you add a option to not strike animals since they're friendly anyway?

    hmmm... the coils cause the lightning to strike things, but there is no damage taken by anything they strike...

    Pigs turn to Pigmen... Creepers get a blue glow surrounding and flowing around them...
    but nothing dies... or is even injured...

    The reason it doesn't work is because when a player leaves the area or if everyone is logged off and back on the coils.dat isn't commiting where all the coils are. On my server I tested it heavily and it seems upon restart or just emptying out the server the coils.dat empties and it assumes the coil you have built isn't a real one until you reset the power and then it commits it back to coils.dat.

    Edit:

    Wierd I just restarted my server and it still worked. I do however see the coils.dat emptying out every once in a while, maybe it doesn't save the data every time?

    What? The persistence file deletes the entry corresponding to the proper coil when it's switched off, it does not empty the entire file unless you had only 1 coil active. His problem was either a conflicting plugin or his server went awry; the plugin has nothing to do with the persistence file besides logging existing coils, deleting one if it is broken/deactivated, and starting the coils again on server start.

    Edit: Tyler, the file deletes itself everytime a coil is deactivated, but prior to that the contents are read into a String array, so the file is recreated and the String array is written to it, but with the deactivated coil omitted.

    Sorry for the confusion, since I upgrade it seems to be working properly.
    This plugin does conflict with the Thunderjoin, when you join the lighting hurts you, but when the tesla strikes a mob the fire doesnt hurt at all nor does it burn trees, removing Thunderjoin fixed my issue.

    I have no clue, how often does it occur? I've asked around and it may be a bukkit-related problem.

    Ok guys; I've updated the tesla to include 2 new configuration options: targetpigs= and targetpeople=. These 2 options will definitely assist in the client-side Pig Zombie problem, but also demonstrate the tesla with people as a target as well as creatures. Advice: with targetpeople=true, make a circuit that runs far enough to keep you out of the tesla's range, unless you have a godmode :p. I will be adding permissions support with signs specifying target-able groups and whether or not creatures are targeted by tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback :]

    If someone DOES want things to die from the bedrock to the sky, the vert radius thing sucks. Can we make it so the vertical radius is the height of the coil? Thanks!

    That would be real nice. I just started really looking into this plugin today and im going to get it. it's gonna be a sweet one i hope. i really hope you do inplement the permissions idea and signs, that would be great! Keep up the good work mate and have fun1
