Inactive [MECH] TeslaCoil v2.6.2 - Keep mobs at bay - the futuristic way! [CB 1.4.5-R0.2]

    TeslaCoil - Tesla Coil mob control:
    Version: v2.6.2

    Usage: the player must construct a tower of no less than 3 iron(configurable) blocks, and connect this directly to a redstone current. While the current is active, all mobs within a radius proportionate to the height of the coil (3 blocks high = 3 block radius), above or below ground, will be fried. The towers ping every second, so mobs chasing you will quickly regret it

    blockvalue= is the correct property. You can try deleting the TeslaCoil folder, then starting the server up to have it generate the correct properties.

    Well... Pigs getting zapped still spawns pigzombies, AND they don't get struck by the coils again after having spawned. It's harsh having to sit in your mansion with ~40 pigzombies running around outside.

    They're client-side, log in and out and they're gone.

    Awesome plugin !

    But as L24D says, a huge tower of 20 or more blocs is really horrible ... Get back the teslaradius plz !

    EDIT : an other idea : customizable radius per bloc, if the radius is set at 2 : basic tower of 3 blocs will hit in a radius of 3*2=6 blocs ...

    New version has the teslaradius= readded, if the property is false, it relies on the tesla height, if it's a number, it'll be set to that radius.

    @darklust i would recommend u to make a example build of the config with height setting since its really hard to config something properly without example

    Inside your configuration.
    teslaradius=false (makes the radius proportionate to height, a coil of 7 blocks would affect a 7 block radius.)
    teslaradius=8 (any number would make the radius static; 8 would mean all coils have a set radius of 8.)

    the last line... it doesn't really matter... multiplication vs division kinda thing...
    Say... you used the # of strikes per second.
    okay.. 2 strikes per second right?
    with number of seconds between strikes, you would just take the reverse of it.. which would be 0.5. it's the same thing :p

    anyways, with that aside, i like the idea of being able to have it attack other players too, but the problem with that is, it would have to have some kind of database, keeping a record of who built which tower... so it doesn't attack the owner.. :p
    but it would be absolutely amazing to have it implemented!

    [​IMG]TeslaCoil+AncientGates works together. ControllerBlocks works, too, but you have to open the gate every time the gate reaappears. (if you're wondering...the redstone is hidden in the base of the gate, powered by a torch.)

    I'm currently working on editing a video of it.

    For an RPG server, making custom gates that SHOOT LIGHTNING MILES INTO THE SKY is EPIC. If/when you add player damage from the coils, it gets even more interesting.

    You saw it here first, folks. I'll post a youtube window ASAP, as soon as I figure out a linux movie editor I can annotate easily onto. (I'm a lame-ass who's used to MS Movie Maker)

    And to the question of 'how do they get in the damned gate?' it's up to players to build their scaffolding. What? I need to change their diapers, too?

    Darkie....even tho your profile pic brings up bad memories of MySpace, I'll swear by your quick coding skills even from under the grave, son. Good Effin' Job.

    I swear...darklust drops 3 updates a day when prompted with ideas.

    I've got this odd... bug? Whenever I turn on a tesla, sometimes it will repeatedly strike a block endlessly. Nothing is there, and it doesnt hinder it from striking mobs that get too close, but it just keeps striking that one spot repeatedly.

    Also, would it be possible to limit the towers striking ranging to mobs that are on the same level as the towers? Mobs spawn a lot underground and I want the towers to only strike mobs above ground.

    Can you add an option to limit how many tesla's each player can have. For instance 4 per player, or a configurable ammount ^_^

    I am also unable to change the material type. I have tried blocktype=41 and blockvalue=41 and my iron piston doors still create lightning. Does anyone else have this problem?

    I have same problem, i delete teslacoil directory, the plugin create another but when i change one line, don't work...
    I'm on a linux server, you too ? i think about problem of uppercase letters, plugin don't read config.

    I say that to avoid decimal numbers. but if "0.5" is well accepted: effectively I don't care.... :p

    Known the owner of a tower is not very relevant (for me). it's considerate as a "Natural cause" of death...
    Or we can imagine a system of iron "human-safe" tower and an evil tower in obsidian (for example) which have the name of the owner on it and the number of kills. (Visually nearly like the plugin Tomb )



    In first place, the pretty cool thing will be a vertical radius (proportionate to horizontal one or not...).

    Fixed the blocktype= bug.
    I like that idea, the priority right now is to crank out the target-mob feature, but after that I'll be implementing alot of these suggestions :]

    This plugin has so much potential!

    I plan on setting my world to constant night, constant storm and setting up a perimeter of teslas!
