    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup

    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5

    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

Is there a way to configure the plugin so that anyone can create portals but that they only go to the nether? (built in to essentials which i'm also using). So basically portals for the nether and /mvtp for a creative world? thanks.

  3. Yep exactly.

You have to use a Wood Pickaxe to set the coordinates; please refer to the OP for more detailed instructions on how to do this.

The only way this is possible is if people create portals using the standard obsidian and lighting it. Simply remove the permissions of your users to /mvpc along with all other portal related commands and you should be fine.

I have an error with the wooden pickaxe. I can set coordinate 2 with right click, but when I left click it says Location 2 location 1 set
    or something like that

I mean Position 2 position 1 set. But again right click works fine.

I have Essentials installed. Latest version and I believe the latest beta version of bukkit.

Weird thing is, if I remove the block that I left clicked on and the one beneath it, then walk through it, teleports me anyways...

Well to add to it, everything about the multiverse mod works perfectly fine, there is nothing wrong with it or Essentials, it all works flawlessly except for that little glitch, for now I'm going to chalk it up to using the experimental new version of Bukkit until told otherwise.

  5. This is not an error.

It seems the new minecraft update broke multiverse.
This is the error in the window:
    Code:
    java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException
This error only occurs when Multiverse is loaded.

EDIT: I feel like a complete idiot, I didn't make permissions for my multiverse maps. Multiverse is working great now as is minecraft.

I am unable to use the sign method as well as the wooden pickaxe method. I have the newest bukkit .jar as well as the most recent multiverse and permissions. I've worked on my permissions folder a bit and it's still not working. anyone know what's going on?

Well it didn't work before unless I removed the blocks but it works now. I tried the method from a youtube video (i believe its posted around here somewhere) as well as you're method and they both worked. Yesterday it didn't today it did. Ehh but its all good now at least it works.

Perhaps a dumb or covered series of questions but...

    1) I was using NetherPlugin for setting up nether before using mutliverse, does MultiVerse require NetherPlugin for the existing nether portals to continue to work?

    2) I found that I had to set a different tool than wooden pickaxe because both WorldEdit and MultiVerse wanted to use that tool, is it normal for them not to play nice together in this way?

I really like this plugin, so thanks!

When will weather be fixed in multiverse?

  14. Please upgrade to 1.6.3

    1. Yes, or essentials. MultiVerse does not do anything when you light a portal, all portals are created via the wood pickaxe

    2. Yes, there is a conflict by default, but you can actually change both via config files. Don't remember what it is to change the WorldEdit one, but to change multiverse, just look at MultiVerse.YML:
    Code:
#The Item a player has to use to set the coordinates to create a portal
    #Default is 270 - Wood Pickaxe
    setwand: 270

Everytime i try to /mvtp p:[PORTAL_ NAME] i end up in a cavern under the main spawn instead of at the portal. how can this be fixed?

I'm sure you probably know this, but it is just a minor bug. Snow only exists on the server's default loaded world. Any other Multiverse added worlds have rain worldwide. It isn't that big of a deal but it's a minor annoyance when I'm in a snow biome and see rain.

  17. Nope. My server has snow in the hostile and snow in the peaceful, snow for everyone! (See this: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Bug#Weather)

    Red Lightning

Hm, I don't know what is causing it then...I wish I knew. I put my default creative world as the default server and there is no snow on my survival one. But when it is defaulted to the survival world theres snow on that world but not on the other survival world I have...It seems to be an issue with Multiverse for me..

  19. Rats, looks like I was too late on the edit, check that link I posted, looks like it's a minecraft bug.

    Red Lightning

I saw that before when I was trying to identify the cause of this. The thing is it isn't just sometimes, its always. I just generated a new world, put it into Multiverse and there was no snowfall, just rain in a snow biome. Maybe will fix for me in a future update.

I love the plugin. I am a little confused over how to setup the properties of the worlds though. i've been reading through the thread and havnt found an answer.

I plan on having 3 worlds. world 1 for build, world 2 for play and world 3 nether. I want different properties between world 1, 2 & 3. World 1 I want no monsters, no animals, no pvp, in World 2 & 3 I want animals, mobs, pvp, etc.

What do I put into the different configs? I have the server.properties file and the Worlds.yml file. The server.properties file currently has the info for World 1. Do I have to have level-name filled out in server.properties to be the default world? Do the server.properties properties override the Worlds.yml info, or do the Worlds.yml properties override the server.properties?

Sorry if this seems confusing. I really just want to know what property definitions need to go into which file.

    thanks

  24. It is a bit confusing. If I understand you correctly, you should set the variables for world 1 in the server.properties. Then go into your server and mvcreate the other worlds. After that, go edit your world files for all three. You should be good to go.

When I'm in a world with monsters turned off, my HP doesn't regenerate like it normally would. Is this an issue with MV, or is another plugin messing with it? Or have I perhaps not configured it right? I looked in the OP and didn't see anything concerning HP regeneration.

ok, everything about this plugin is perfect for what i need, except one small problem. when you go through a portal to a destination portal, you get teleported a few blocks to the left of the destination. this is a problem for me cause the portal hub of my main world is in a rather enclosed area, and it keeps teleporting me outside this area, which i dont really want. is it possible to fix this problem?

    Yggy

If I recall correctly, WorldEdit uses a Wooden Axe, not a Wooden Pickaxe, to select the regions. That is how it is setup by default I believe, since I did not change those objects and I run both on my server. My main problem is remembering to turn off Super Pickaxe before setting up a portal. :D

According to the instructions, but I have yet to physically try this, if you select the portal (/mvps) and then stand where you want the portal to drop you, type "/mvpd" and it will set the destination to where you are standing. I may have to give that a try myself, as that would help me with my little portal demonstration I was giving earlier...

One question I have that I just thought of, what is the function of the "Alias" parameter in the Worlds.yml file?

  28. hmm this is very strange, any log details? Did you try creating another nether world?

Upgrade to 1.6.3 and see if that fixes it, but I'll bet it's a permissions issue. Did you give yourself Admin/mvtp permission in the world you teleported to?

This has to do with the fact that I've only been able to get one "peaceful" world, ie the main one. This is achieved by setting the server.properties "mobs" to false. I know there are other plugins that do this though if this is not the solution for you.
    @Imm0rt41
This is actually a typo in the OP, it should read:
    /mvpd here

No i didn't try other nether worlds. Nothing in the logs, no errors. I have my default world, a world for mining and the nether world. I notice on startup it says loading world world and loading world nether, but it doesn't say loading world miner. It however does say loaded 3 worlds. Ive also confirmed that the portals do not take me to the mining world or somewhere in the normal world.
