    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    The Multiverse Team:
    Developers:
@Rigby90 - The Multiverse God. 'nuff said
    @fernferret - Coding Person. Don't ask him about P2/P3 or Error 199.
@lithium3141 - Utility coder or crazy math dude. You decide.
@main-- - Is this his forum account? Localization person and MV-Adventure dev!

    Documenters:

    • PermissionsBukkit support (Anything that implements the superperms api (PermBukkit, PEX, bPerms...)
    • iConomy, BOSEconomy, RealEcon, Essentials Econ and Item economy support!
    • Show which users are in what worlds
    • Create portals to let users go between worlds
    • Control who can enter worlds/portals with permissions!
    • World scaling with NetherPortals
    • Allow minecarts/boats through portals
    • Launch users through the air when they enter a portal!
    • Conserve memory by having some worlds NOT keep their spawn chunks loaded!
    • And the list goes on...

    Version 1.6.4

    • Fixed 0 Price Portals
    • Fixed a bug with new Portals
    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup
      • Now you no longer have to set the server.properties PVP variable to true... this is now completely done via the worlds config and properly stops PVP rather than preventing the damage from being applied.
    Version 1.6.3

    • Update for Minecraft 1.5 and CraftBukkit build 733
    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5
Version 1.6 - Thanks to 'fernferret'

    • Updated for CB Builds 600+
    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

Damn, after setting up all portals the server crashes now again with the same error - but only sometimes.

If you have WorldEdit, there may be a conflict... try the "//toggleeditwand" command and see if that fixes it.

I found an odd defect and I'm not sure how much it relates specifically to Multiverse, but Zombie Pig Men can't be killed when Mobs are disabled in a world, I've only had a chance to test this on my Multiverse server

  6. This is most likely a bukkit/minecraft server bug, multiverse does not deal directly with mobs other than enabling or disabling them.

Looks like your server is running out of memory when it tries to load another world, ie when you try to tp to it. I'd up the amount of ram in the cli vars.

You have Permissions 2.7, from TheYeti, correct? Other forms of permissions are not offically supported in MultiVerse

Yes, then you have to click somewhere else to actually set it. What it's doing here is setting both to a 1x1x1 cube, so when you right click, it will set the 2nd position, thus stretching the cube. More info is in the OP.

Looks like a playerSession issue, have you updated to 1.6.3 yet? (Your sig said 1.6.2)

can you make a movie how to do? :p

  8. Not sure exactly what you're looking for in a video tutorial, but there are several on YouTube by searching for "Minecraft MultiVerse"

Here is one on creating portals: (this is one of the most common questions)

Unfortunately, it's just a 128mb server from brohoster for 4 people, so I can't increase the memory. However, I disabled one of the three worlds and I think it stopped crashing. Have to test it with more people though - anyway, thanks for the reply

This is a client-side bug - when a pig is struck by lightning, you get client-side ghost zombies.

  14. That'd be WorldGuard, something is wrong there, not with MultiVerse.

    MV 1.6.3

I'm having a slight problem with the iConomy integration. I had the iConomy setting on false in the config, and yet when players try to go through portals (whose cost is 0.0) with 0 coins, it tells them "Sorry but you do not have the required funds for this portal" and does not allow them to port. If they are given one coin, they can go through, and it tells them they were charged 0.0 for using the portal. Changing the iConomy setting to true yielded no difference.

Checked a couple of pages in, but did not notice...

Is there a way to specify a multi-name server name on the /mv commands?

For example: /mvcreate The Real World normal
    instead of: /mvcreate TheRealWorld normal

I've read in a separate thread that it could be the java version. I'm running CentOS and using OpenJDK in their repository which isn't the latest java version. When I get a chance, I'll install the latest java version to see if that is the problem.

  21. And what version of MultiVerse are you using? Any other plugins?

Don't think so, the primary reason for this is that spaces just make it more work in regexes and more work typing. Just curious, why is it so important that your worlds have spaces in the names?

It looks nicer when someone lists the worlds. Just wondering, I could just edit the configuration files afterwards, but I was wondering if it was possible in-game.

Not as if this is a big issue but, why do you still use the inactive Niko's Permissions? Is it a really big thing to change from his to one like TheYeti's permissions because otherwise Multiverse disables itself and is unuseable.

  24. Looks like the link in the OP is to the old one, but right below it is the link to TheYeti's plugin. This is the version that is supported.

@Rigby90 May be time to remove the link to the old permissions plugin

@Rigby90 & @fernferret - I think there's also a message in Multiverse which complains that "Permissions 2.1" is not installed if you forget to install Permissions... should maybe change that to just "Permissions is not installed".

I am having an issue with these portals. I have both my worlds created and my portals with their desintation but it does not seem to be working. This is what I am reading in my worlds.yml:

    worlds:
    World of Brandon2:
    animals: true
    pvp: true
    alias: ''
    blockBlacklist: ''
    worldBlacklist: ''
    spawn: 22:70:114:-103.79435:17.74222
    mobs: true
    price: 0.0
    environment: NORMAL
    editWhitelist: ''
    playerBlacklist: ''
    playerWhitelist: ''
    editBlacklist: ''
    World of Brandon:
    animals: true
    pvp: true
    alias: ''
    blockBlacklist: ''
    worldBlacklist: ''
    spawn: -294:64:-9:103.25643:3.5004504
    mobs: true
    price: 0.0
    environment: NORMAL
    editWhitelist: ''
    playerBlacklist: ''
    playerWhitelist: ''
    editBlacklist: ''
......And this is what I am reading in my portals:

    portals:
    world1portal:
    price: 0.0
    destlocation:'' location: -291.0,64.0,-7.0:-291.0,65.0,-4.0
    owner: King_Koopa
    world: World of
    Brandon
    world2portal:
    price: 0.0
    destlocation:'' location: 13.0,70.0,107.0:17.0,71.0,107.0
    owner: King_Koopa
    world: World of Brandon2

--Now I understand I have to link them together somehow, but when I type /mvpd it says an internal error has occured. I was able to create the worlds and the portal from ingame, and have other plugins functioning (nothing to do with portals) and they all work fine with permissions.

Also when I type /mvtp w:World of Brandon, I get the red help text when you would type in /mvtp. What am I doing wrong?

hey sorry if i havent read the 89 pages but I have 2 worlds, I haven't changed the default .yml at all, and in the first world all my permissions work fine, and in the other world my friend doesnt have build rights?

  28. Should be gone in 1.6.3!
I think this has to do with what I was discussing with another user earlier, spaces in world names. How did you create/import these ingame? If you rename this world without spaces you should have no issues using
    Code:
    /mvpd p:PORTALNAME
This is really a permissions issue, but:
If I have world with my permissions set, and i create world2, and I want it to have the same permissions as world, us use:
    Code:
    plugin:
        permissions:
            system: default
            copies: world

I deleted the spaces in my map names but I am not actually sure if that was the problem. Cause when I created in World of Brandon2, i typed /mvpc Worldportal2 w:World of Brandon2 ..... What I did wrong I believe was put the current world name in the created portal and not the other world. But my problem is fixed, thanks!

Is it possible to use this mod and use the Wormhole Extreme one as your portal support? My world already has a nice stargate setup and would like to keep in the stargate theme. Would I just set all the permissions for MV Portals to say admin so no one can use them?
