Alright, so recently I submitted a project on bukkitdev which got accepted, but as you all know you also need your .jar to get accepted, and I've been waiting over 48 hours, and nothing. Can someone please tell me why this is taking so long? Thank you and sorry for my rant.

Dude I have to wait that long every time. Normally it takes 2-3 days for me but I had to wait 5 days once. I'm really tired of seeing these threads every day >.>.

Monkey_Swag Reason that it takes long: all of the staff are volunteers, nobody gets payed to do this, everybody does this in his / her spare time.
That is why it is taking long.
Also note that they read every line of code of every plugin submitted, the bigger the plugin, more code to read, more time spend.

I apologize, but we are still working through the holiday backlog. Approval times are much longer than any of us would like. Of course, the fact your submissions don't meet the guidelines requirement of having a version number in the title isn't going to help your approval speed ;)

Go to the file, click File Management, Edit File, and change the title to include the version number of each of those uploads :)

mbaxter thank you, and I also apologize for my rant, it's just that my friends who also create plugins get all of theirs accepted in a day or a day and a half. But anyways, thank you.

Monkey_Swag Sometimes there's a slight increase in speed, sometimes there's a major decrease (such as is the case right now).
For example, I myself can't work on any queue right now due to Exams, and I'm probably not the only one.

Why don't they hire more staff?

Its not a simple matter to find those who are skilled with Java willing to give up hours of their day, every day, to approve files. That said, we are on the hunt for more staff.

I've applied before, but never received a reply. Was there a reason for that? Do you send application denial emails? Those would be appreciated ^^

The only language that matters is Java. The real requirement is your ability to spend the time required to review 10-25 plugins a day. That takes about 1-6 hours depending on how large the files are. It also depends on the speed of the toolset. Either way, if you can spend that amount of time every day, apply.

zeeveener Although PHP sometime also comes in handy, since some plugins have web-ends :) Of course, Java is the main language though.

PS: I just read the OP again, and either I am confused or he is. You don't need a file to have your project accepted. You do need an accepted project before we're looking at your files though, that's true :)
