I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

Had the same issue, with going from old config, or to new config with the dump true. Will possibly test this weekend on another machine and go back to nothing but just your plugin to see if something else is conflicting.

Just a quick thought, anyway you could have a constant link to just the .jar not in a zip? Would make it so much easyer for those of us on linux to just wget it to the plugins folder, as it is now I have to d/l it on my system and unzip it then ftp it up.

this uses a hell of a lot less resorces and is more exact on the data. and what you postes is ment for testing only not live servers

Yes this plug-in brakes iconomy Interest /it updating its mysql data base. It seems to be fixed now but it dont seem to update every 5 min like it should.

On another note my server seems to be extremly laggy.

Another thing i said A world edit zone YOU CAN NOT DO IT ATM.

yes what you said works but it rolls back a radius I want to roll back only 1 persons changes in a world edit selection not a stupid inaccurate radius.

Well at least 12b and now c are not crashing my server :), and it seems to be working much more accurately.

Rolling back beds only brings half of it back :p

Hm, I like to keep track of the downloads count. You could use craftbukkituptodate, which can extract zips.
    Version 0.12c?
I made recent a few fixes about that issue.
But if in some cases both consumers fail, you can manually call "/lb savequeue"
Will come with the new commands system I'm working on :D
    It should
Errcode 13 means permission denied. Set dumbDroppedLog to false.
    Think so
Oh, tested only blowing up beds, which works as intended. Then doors will have a similar problem ...
    Hm, strange. Wil fix that.
Nicks can change, or even be the name of another player.

  18. Logging destroying is much more important than logging building, right? Actually imho i could say, you do not need to log build actions against griefers. WIthout this you may have smaller database size, less amount of transfered data and so on. Which means smaller impact on CPU, RAM, HDD and LINE too. We used BB first, we got some trouble with mysql (15 players online), so we turned off build logging and we hosted about 30 players with no latence change. With LB we have 50-60 online players each day and we're expecting more. We're just afraided, that our db wont manage more players. But really thanks for this whole work.

Edit: yes and another thing: We have v0.11b, chest-access logging turned off, but lb is still logging that action. Thats all! Uff...

    DiddiZ

    Hm, would be possible.
Hm, you are right, logChestAccess is never asked, will fix that.

The /lb savequeue is a nice solution, but the plugin still isn't periodically inserting the data into the database (with 0.12c).

k, I hoped the bukkit scheduler would at least return that it didn't started the consumer so the timer I added could schedule the consumer. Maybe I can check otherwise, whether the cosumer runs ...

Hmmm... tried updating to 12c, but I keep getting an error upon restart that my user account cannot log into MySQL. Strange because the mysql info in the 12c and 11b config files is identical. I even restarted mysql with no change. No big deal though because 11b seems to work just fine.

maby it has something to do with the dump timer? mine is set to 30min if i lower it to say maby 10min?

  25. Offline

    DiddiZ

I heard it works when you rename the config, start once to autocreate and set the config entries again.
    dumb timer???
There is nothing like that. I really hope, you don't mean the delay.

    Hi,

I'm using LogBlock 12c with CB 670. I'm getting an error "Queue Overload: size:150" What does that mean?

  30. Offline

    DiddiZ

There are more than 100 blocks in queue. When that appears permanently, you should lower the delay.

    Snookieboy

Same for me, The Savequeue feature is a life saver, as I now don't need to stop the server to view the logs, but the fact the scheduler isnt working for some is a real shame :( Great mod otherwise.
