I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

but how to rollback creepers esplosion..

and can u add a rollback command without time online with area and player ?

  7. Offline

    DiddiZ

    Hm, the syntax looks good.
Does that happen with all or specific signs?
Disabling of sign text logging should avoid that error.
    /lb rollback player creeper

Huh? It would still work... By right clicking with a bedrock block it will check then remove it (just the one you place.)

Pardon me for my ignorance but im trying to understand the syntax for the commands...

    /lb rollback player [name] <time> <minutes|hours|days>
    /lb rollback area [radius] <time> <minutes|hours|days>
    /lb rollback playerarea [name] [radius] <time> <minutes|hours|days>

    /lb rollback selection <time> <minutes|hours|days>

I must be a noob but i have been trying the following:
/lb rollback player Broland 10 - this results in asking me to correct the syntax
/lb rollback player Broland 10m - this results in asking me to correct the syntax
/lb rollback player Broland time:10 - this results in asking me to correct the syntax
/lb rollback player Broland time 10 - says rolling back and gives green codes as if it was working but says rollingback by 0 minutes

This is also prettry much the same for the radius. I guess i am just not figuring it out?
Maybe its just me but it would be great if we could perhaps use these syntax:
/lb rollback (Name) (radius) (time) - where time is m,h,d
which would look like /lb rollback Broland r:10 t:5m
then if one variable wasn't provided it would defualt to a set thing. I.E if no name it would just do all in that area, no time would defualt to 30m, no r would default to 20...

On b617, just copied and pasted my mySQL url from BigBrother to the lb config, figured it'd work. Guess not :p
Any additional configs will be supplied if needed.

    DiddiZ

    @Chris Lewis
    The syntax is:
/lb rollbacl player diddiz 5 minutes
    /lb rollback area 20 999 days
    /lb rollback area 5
    The time is optional
Oh, it's okay. But if LB has problems to access to the mysql connector, and other plugins are using mysql, or sqlite LB for some reason runs amok.
LB sometime downloads the connector, but isn't abloe to connect to it. In most cases a restart solves the issue. If not, you'll have to post the files in the lib/ folder and the manifest.mf inside the LogBlock.jar.

I have a number of plugins running sqlite, but no other ones running mySQL. Also, I didn't clear out the BB tables nor did I convert them. Is that causing the problem?

No, BB tables doesn't matter, and import also isn't required.
Connector is there, manifest looks good.
LB is still trying to get a sqlite connection from another plugin.
Did a restart hava any effect?

Looks also good. So everything is set up properly, but LB can't access to the connector. That's kind of weird. If LB could download the file, I assume LB has rights to access it.
    You could delete the connector.

    Found an error!

    You're not escaping queries on sign text! That means someone could create a sign like `; DROP TABLE lb-main;

    Ahhhhhhhh

    Michael314

Just tested this by creating a fire and blowing up TNT.
Seems good. I like the info output.

But rollback didn't replace a sign or doors that were destroyed. Is that by design? Will it ever log them? Or did something go wrong and it should have?

I note the server log is full of these lines :-

[INFO] [LogBlock Consumer] Queue overloaded. Size: 138

Are they just warnings or is it losing data? Is that potentially where my doors went? Can I increase a queue or setting somewhere to stop this?

Edit: Further testing. Poured some lava on top of a house. That didn't really end positively. I couldn't get rid of the lava or get the house back as was (with signs and torches etc). Perhaps some manual intervention would have helped, but...

I guess those excited about the speed would get just as fast speed from bigbrother if it didn't log lava (that being the primary cause of lots of rows) Unfortunately, people grief with lava, so unless there's something I'm missing, it seems to me logging lava flows is a necessary evil for a plugin like this.

Lastly, please, please, please consider removing the lb- from the front of the table names. It's completely unnecessary (the database name provides a namespace, call your database "lb" and there's your lb.main without needing the ugly - ) Why? Well, it means having to type `` around table names in mysql client.

Noticed a few things or perhaps rather had a few questions
1- does this work with the new 2.5.5 permissions? because i have permissions negated for the player to be able to see history and yet when they place a block they can see it.
2- feature request: enable/disable the blocks so we can use things more common. i.e. /lb tool = gives you the tool and saves the place in the inventory slot /lb block would give you the block and saves the inventory slot and when you do /lb none it returns everything back to normal
3- feature request: the syntax request i made earlier

Overall i really appreciate this plugin as it basically took the place of a failing BigBrother. I appreciate the work you devs do!

any one gona help me set up a database?

  28. Offline

    Michael314

    Just google it.

    The basic steps are

    - Install mysql.
    - Create a user for mysql (don't use root)
    - Create the database (call it what you want)
    - grant privileges on the database you just created to the user you created
    - edit the config.yml of logblock using the user, password and name of the database you've just created. It should be obvious where you put user and password, the name of the database is the last part of this line :-

    url: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/db

So, if your database is called logblock change db to logblock.

This line also assumes you have mysql running on the same machine "localhost" and default port ":3306" - if that's not the case, change these accordingly.

If you get stuck, googling the relevant part should find a million or so pages. e.g, if you get stuck creating a user for mysql, google "creating a user in mysql" and you'll get thousands and thousands of pages explaining how to do it. And so on for the other steps. In fact, you'll probably find a few thousand pages describing all the steps together, one at a time - except the last one.

It's exactly the same doing the steps for this plugin, as it is for anything else that uses mysql that asks you to create a database. The only part that is specific to this plugin is the bit where you edit the config.yml.

!!!!!!!!!!! This is a huge issue. I can't run a server with such a huge vulnerability. With BB not updated and LogBlock vulnerable, I'm not able to run my server safely. Can this be fixed quickly?
