    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    • Fixed a bug with new Portals
    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup
      • Now you no longer have to set the server.properties PVP variable to true... this is now completely done via the worlds config and properly stops PVP rather than preventing the damage from being applied.
    Version 1.6.3

    • Update for Minecraft 1.5 and CraftBukkit build 733
    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5
Version 1.6 - Thanks to 'fernferret'

    • Updated for CB Builds 600+
    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

I don't have a config file, just a file with my world name and it is just for the different permissions.

And none of the commands do anything.

Is there any way to get "portal" textures to appear once you've established the portals? I went to alot of trouble to build a large "Dark Portal" style/sized obsidian gate to get to my nether. and a clone of it on the other side, but they are not the typical "portal" type- so they did not get ignited to make the portal texture, placing it manually just makes it disappear. If not no biggy- i'll come up with some kind of design--i was just wondering.

  6. For those of you who are having this issue ([SEVERE] Could not pass event PLAYER_MOVE to MultiVerse java.lang.NullPointerException)

If you are willing to run a build that may crash your server (although many of you say the current one is doing just this), then try 1.6.1 (linked at the bottom of this post, but please read the whole thing before grabbing it) out, I am still unable to reproduce this bug.

Everyone else should use the version that Rigby Posted

Regardless if I've fixed this or not, since multiple people are having this, being able to reproduce it would be superawesome, so if you can reproduce the error above in 1.6.1 (linked at the bottom) please post specific instructions on how I can get it do this!

This did fix what I think Rigby was saying (I loaded my server, was the only one on, performed a /reload, then slept without java exception explosions in the morning)

    Build 1.6.1
Source has also been pushed to github

    Changelog:
    - Add additonal check to see if a session is null, if so, reload PlayerSessions

Thanks guys, and sorry for the exceptions :(

WorldEdit, once it updates, should be able to do that. Just use the //wand command, select the portal frame in the same way as you would with MV's wand, (by left-clicking one corner and right-clicking the other), and type "//replace air portal"; if that doesn't work, use 91 instead of portal, but it should work.

  12. For this plugin, none of the changes that took place in 5 builds will matter, the current version 1.6 has been tested on 617

At least currently, 1.6 is for [612+]

So, this may happen in V2.0, (I can't speak for Rigby and what direction this plugin will be going in then), but for 1.6, i'm very hesitant to add any features. The primary rationale is that there will be a 2.0 out in the near future, the code has already begun, and after reading through both sets, 2.0 is so much better architected!

With all of that said, I do believe this is a worthwhile cause, so who knows what'll happen. ;)

Edit: Turns out all he needs is a link, Rigby: I'll create a new dropbox folder that will always have the current 1.X build in it, and when 2.0 is ready, we'll have him switch it over to your hosting

Edit2: Rigby, since this is your plugin I wasn't sure if you wanted to submit a link to the builds you've been doing, I have an xml file already hosted and prepared to submit, but wanted your approval first. (A file that will always have the latest stable 1.x build on it)

Hi, from what I've read and seen this is a very intriguing plugin, but I'm pretty new to Minecraft and installing plugins on Bukkit servers. I'm coming across an exception that is not allowing me to use commands. From what I am guessing, I have not set up the files or something properly. Anyways, here is the error from the server.log that I am coming up with...

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi guys,

I just installed the new version of Multiverse, but now, the name of the world what's the player is isn't notified before the player's message.

    (Example :

    Before : [Nether][Noob] Kikoo : Hello world !

After : [Noob] Kikoo : Hello world !)

I'm just waiting for your reply :)

    Thank you a lot ;)

(PS : Sorry for my bad english, I'm french.)

I still have nothing happen, no text acknowledgments and no follow-through when I type ANY of the commands. I also tried essentials for the warping between worlds function, and it appears that it incorporates MultiVerse inside of it because the cross-word warping commands are the same as MultiVerse, and those also don't work. Has it not been updated or something?

    Tim Yong

    Greetings, everyone.

Where can I find version 1.5 of this plugin? My server is essentially running CraftBukkit 556 (modded by Zidonuke to allow 1.3_01 and 1.4 clients to play). Thanks!

  19. I checked the archives and it doesn't look like it's up right now. In addition, I was not really sure what changes were made in 1.5 because the latest on git was 1.4 when I started work on it.
see Below: Also remember that 1.5 is no longer supported :)

Looks like a problem with your config file, mind pastebinning your permissions file for the world you're in?

    Do you have:
    Code:
    prefix: true
set in MultiVerse.yml? (Here is an example of how this file should look)

I apologize but I'm very confused about what you've written. It's most likely just me, so could you explain what the problem you're having, and how it's related to essentials? Have you tried loading just Permissions 2.5.5 and MultiVerse 1.6? What version of essentials are you using? Are there any log messages of interest?

Tim, I am not sure if this is 1.5, but it is what I was using for 556.

  21. Yep! This is in fact 1.5, Checked the YML myself. Think i'll grab that copy you have and throw it on my DB Thanks!

Edit: From now on, all versions of 1.X will be available at:
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15506373/MultiVerse 1.X/MultiVerse.jar
where you replace 1.X with the version number you want, starting with 1.5

Ok so I am still getting nothing. I have the latest 1.6.1 of MultiVerse, and none of the commands work.
I have MultiVerse.jar in the plugins folder and set up myself to have every permission, tried each and every command none of them do anything or product any text acknowledgement.

    Thanks for responding fernferret,

I've been doing hours of messing around and changing things trying to get it to work.
I have figured out how to get it working now and it seems to be doing fine, the only thing I am concerned about right now is when I switch worlds by teleporting, the setting of mobs(peaceful) or no mobs doesn't really seem to take into effect on separate maps.

Are the maps only able to follow one rule, or am I able to specifically adjust them to seperately spawn monsters and regenerate HP for creative?

    Itssnowing

Each world can have different settings, as to whether or not there's monsters. I think setting the server.properties to peaceful just makes your main world peaceful.

  25. The thing I was curious about, was is it possible to have multiple peaceful worlds? Or what level do other worlds default to?

I have noticed my new worlds being at easy/normalish

If this is not supported, I'm going to go back to my default statement and wait for something nifty in 2.X but if it is, I'd love to know about it!

Can anybody help me get it to work? CraftBukkit #617, and the newest permissions and still none of the commands work. (Note: Previously on #612 it didn't either?).

P.S. I've tried MV 1.6 and 1.6.1, to no avail.

Thanks, I tried changing the world settings of each separate one and nothing changed; but since I have been editing and changing so many things not all the files were "lined up" right and so the settings didn't effect my server.

I've got it working now thanks to screwing around with it :)

    Itssnowing

It's possible to have multiple peaceful worlds, yes. You just have to make sure it's set up properly.

hummm... This would be a nice addition! Have a peaceful starting world, and then have a progression chain... Find the world you like and stay there :)

    Celtic Minstrel

    No, server.properties overrides everything.

  31. I don't think this is correct, one of my friends runs a server where the main world is peaceful, but we have a second world filled with monsters, and the biggest differentiation is the auto-regen health, I can warp to the friendly world and autoheal myself, then warp back to the hostile world, but maybe we're talking about different things...

So I think i'm a little confused about your comment, what do you mean that `server.properties overrides everything`?

Do you have any log messages on server startup? Any exceptions in the server console? I apologize, but without any further information, it's really difficult to figure out what's going on.
