Bukkit takes great pride in providing the community with plugins that are free from malicious code through our plugin hosting site, BukkitDev. This commitment to the community means we need to have many talented and dedicated individuals available to help us with file and project approvals around the clock and around the world.

Due to amount of hard work, time, and dedication it takes to provide this service to the community, we are looking for more talented, trustworthy individuals to help us keep approval times low. Developers want to see their plugins approved regularly and within a reasonable amount of time, while server admins want to be able to download the latest version of the plugins they use as quickly as possible.

    Applicants must:
    • Have Java experience
    • Have submitted at least one plugin to BukkitDev that is not a basic generic plugin
    • Be a good community member
    • Be able to connect to and be readily available on IRC (Esper)
If you think you would be a good fit in our BukkitDev Approval Team and would like to help us keep the queue moving at a reasonable pace, we invite you to submit an application to join our team of dedicated individuals who tirelessly go through hundreds of projects and files each week. Please apply at bukkitdev -dash- applications -at- bukkit -dot- org with the details below:

The subject of your email should be:
    Code:
    BukkitDev Application: [Username]

The body of your email should be:
    Code:
    Name:
    Age:
    Location and Timezone:
    Bukkit Forums Username:
    BukkitDev Username:
    IRC Username:
Why do you feel you would make a good BukkitDev Staff member?
When are you available to dedicate time to BukkitDev?
Have you used BukkitDev before to host your projects? If so, provide links!

    (Hint: Ctrl+Shift+V pastes without formatting...)

As we're fully aware of how much delays within the Approval Queue affect plugin developers and server admins alike, we've decided to promote someone intimately familiar with the approval process to the role of BukkitDev Team Lead. Effective immediately, Gravity's sole responsibility is to ensure your experience with BukkitDev is a fantastic one. As part of his new role, he'll be actively handling BukkitDev Approval Team applications and managing the BukkitDev Approval Team.

Please join me in congratulating Gravity on his new role and responsibilities!

Sorry, is that a question or a statement?

Statement. It was a weird sentence because I was continuing on from my previous post. I should have said "So I will know when my profile changes and when I get contacted."

  7. Are you guys still accepting bukkit community staff applications or just dev staff =I

Well, I applied. I saw that this is apparently still in effect due to the fact that Zarius got it the other day (Congrats by the way) I feel like the wait queue is really quite good, but it could still be better. I have lots of free time and hopefully I'll be able to put it to use here :)

I am most likely wrong but it seems as if the applications are kind of put to the side and possibly deleted, It may be unfair for people who submit there app before others because it is so far back in the emails. So I don't know i just think it may be unfair.

All applications are listed exactly the same, there are periods where we need more staff and so we'll peruse it more than usual, but there's absolutely no deletion or special treatment of apps, at all. I don't know what gave you that idea, but it is entirely false.

  14. Gravity are you guys only accepting bukkit dev apps now or can we apply for forum mod/community staff?

The applications are always open, but since they're a bit older we're definitely putting more emphasis on us noticing you; the applications only tell us you're willing should we recognize you as a potential candidate.

  16. Ahh, kay thanks! =3

Gravity I was jaust thinking in a general poll type way because most old poll votes or entry's are normally on the bottom thats all, Thanks for helping with my concern!

Denial is not fun. Especially when they don't tell you you've been denied... Haha, I'll keep hoping for the best but it isn't likely considering the most recent additions applied not very long at all before they were accepted.

You're expected to take initiative outside of your application. Don't let your application do the work, because it won't. It tells us you're willing, and we won't choose anyone who we don't see as already active, mature, and able.

I'm not directing any of that towards you (saying you havent' done it), but it's something to keep in mind. Talking about how you got "denied" when we don't deny people is not going to help you.

Hey, sorry, now upon reading my post, I do realize it sounded a bit.... Just not the way I wanted to. I was just venting because of finals at school, I suppose, Anyways, sorry about that. I'll clean up my act and hope that this hasn't 100% soiled my chance

By taking initiative you mean helping out on the forums and hopping on the irc, am I correct?

    Gravity

Indeed. In general, be a good person and be active.

I am wanting to apply, however I do not see how to create an IRC account. If someone could link me to how to do so, I would love to be able to be a BukkitDev volunteer! :)
