I just started playing minecraft some days ago and now I was making my own Bukkit server. I have trouble when I try to connect to the server. I've been reading lots of threads from this Forums, and some from other pages but I still can't solve my problem. It happens that I have already done the port forwarding, but still can't connect to my server. I tried using this port scanner tool and it says 25565/tcp filtered minecraft. I'm pretty sure I already allowed Java and The port Filtering through my Computers Firewall (By the way, I'm using Windows 7).

    1. Forward the port 25565 TCP & UDP on your router
    2. Allow the port 25565 TCP & UDP through your windows firewall
    3. Start your server - At the bottom does it say Done!
    4. Keep your server running for people to play on it
    5. Join with the IP that is listed here: http://www.whatismyip.com/
If you still have issues what step do you get up and and what is the error?

Try joining by typing localhost instead of your ip and are you trying to join using the ip listed from that website?

Good to see you use my fav, port checking tool :D
    First off:
    1) You log onto your server with InternalIp/ IPv4(found in CMD by typing 'ipconfig'), or localhost or 127.0.0.1
    2) Server-ip= in your server.properties should be empty

If you have anymore questions feel free to read

It says cant resolve host name when i try using "locahost" and yes, I'm using the exact IP that appears on the website.

when i try to join with my IPV4, it says http://prntscr.com/14pihz and when i use 127.0.0.1 it says the same. Also when i try using local host it says Can't resolve host name. Server-ip= is empty in my properties file.

i typed that, made a typo while posting. sorry. :)

just read your guide, so would the forwarding be like this? http://prntscr.com/14pyt9

Ahh you have a 1.4.7 version of the server but you have 1.5.2 version of Minecraft
    Download craft bukkit 1.5.2 http://dl.bukkit.org/latest-beta/craftbukkit-beta.jar

Thanks. Tried using that version, and it works for me. Now, i only need to fix it so my friends can connect, as i think the port is closed at the moment. My port scanner tool says 25565/tcp filtered minecraft.I've already allowed it through my firewall, this is how my port forwarding looks like : http://prntscr.com/14pyt9

I fixed it. If its useful to someone else, all I needed to do was allow the port through my antivirus firewall. Thanks for the help!

I have these same problems and followed this forum to a tee, but still no luck. I have McAfee as well and opened ports through Windows Firewall, and through McAfee Firewall. However, no one can reach my server via External IP. Does anyone else have suggestions?
