(PLEASE HELP) Error with Bukkit Server

Hello all,
My Bukkit Server, is having some issues. Every once in a while (approx. 30 seconds), it disconnects someone and says: "Internal exception: java.io.IOException: Received string length longer than maximum allowed (18 > 16)".

Information about my server:
CraftBukkit 1.5.1 Development Build RO.3
3GB of Ram

Please help as soon as possible.

18 is greater than 16? Something about a username size maybe? What are your plugins?

 

Can you post the exact wording plz , you can find it near the bottom of your server.txt / server.log file

 

If you are looking for the exact CraftBukkit, then it's 'CraftBukkit 1.5.1-RO.3 Development Build #2759' (It is also the latest CraftBukkit).
If you are looking for the exact error message, then the one above is the exact error message.

 

Does it disconnect random people or a user who tries to join? Is your server running in offline-mode = false?

 

It disconnects random people. My server is running online-mode = false, but I had it like that for 4 months.

I have a LOT of plugins. Do I need to list them all? I don't think it's the username size because It happens to EVERYBODY.

I just tried making it Online Mode, but it still happened.

So here at bukkit don;t we only offer support for online servers? Offline servers are usually cracked. Correct me if I'm wrong might be confused with another site.

pretty sure, also the first user that replied mentioned this as well, but I guess now if it's changed to online mode we do help. But again, it won;t happen when it's online because it's impossible for a username to be greater than 16, it's not allowed when you have a legit Minecraft account

Then that fixes the problem, if you're still getting the error then it means somebody is trying to join with a username that is longer than 16 characters and you don't have to worry about it

 

No, I do have to worry about it. It keeps kicking EVERYBODY, including me. My username has only 7 letters.

 

AHh so it's not randomly saying the message in your console like somebodies trying to join, that's what I thought was happening. My apologies. Have you tried downloading the latest version of craftbukkit? Also have you tried removing all your plugins to see if the issue still persists?

Care to share in case somebody else ever runs into this issue? That way they don't have to go through this same thing.
