    Hello ...

I recently made a server and it's running perfectly ! All of the mobs and animals spawn. Plugins work perfectly, but I have 1 problem. I cant place a painting anywhere ...

When I try to place the painting it's like I place it but don't see it and then I get the painting back like I never placed it. What's wrong ?

Might be a bug in the latest bukkit/craftbukkit. Probably just have to tough it out until a fix is made.

Oh ok ... I found another thing you cant do ... Putting fences one above the other to make like a pole. It doesn't work anymore.

I just tested that on CB 82 and id does work just like it worked in the past. If you have other version I can test that too.

I don't know which build I'm using. If you tell me where to look I'll be happy to tell you what build I'm on.

Only you can know - you have to keep track of when you last downloaded the build.

Then ... it was yesterday ? I don't know which build it is, but I downloaded a plugin that downloads new builds automatically and I saw that there is a new build in the console today but the plugin didn't do a great job at downloading it.

I'm going to download it now, I don't really know how to update it but I'll probably figure it out :D

There are a lot of complicated methods to update your craftbukkit server. Personally, being I use Linux, I just run a simple wget command to download the latest build, and implement it upon starting up my server. So for me, I check what build is out - then restart my server, then check builds again (just to make sure nothing new has come out). I keep a note of which build it was when I started my server - that's the build I run.

What OS are you using? Click this link to download the latest version (the latest version is always available at that link).

I'm on Windows 7. So I just download this and copy it over my old craftbukkit.jar ?

http://bamboo.lukegb.com/browse/BUKKIT Click Bukkit main or craftbukkit, It will show the latest #build click the #build you want, then click the artifacts tab and then click bukkit.jar/craftbukkit.jar. And then yes just drag and drop the new jar and replace the old one, done.

You think we could get a /version implemented to show build version?
That way if you're playing on a remote SMP server you can also check what version they're running.

I often forget what build I'm on too..

Its on the to-do list. For now, you need to stop forgetting. :p

Is it that hard to just rename it to craftbukkit_ver#.jar and update the script/symplink each time you upgrade?

Addendum: Craftbukkit 103+ should support /version command.

    build 106 just returns:
"This server is running some funky dev version of bukkit!"
    Not very helpful :D

you shouldnt have to rename the .jar at all, when i download a new .jar build i drop into my server folder and run my server as usual, with plugins etc.
