I searched in dev.bukkit for wgen and got six results. "generator" offered up more results than wgen did. so my question is, what is a good world generator? I do not have any experience with one and would love to hear from you what one would be good. I was thinking of using the tardis plugin to warp from my spawn world to a random place in this new generated world. I just didnt want a new normal world for them to explore. City generator looked interesting, but i don't know if it works with 1.4.6 R3. I appreciate any info I can get. Thank you!
Are you looking for something specific? Terrain Control is good for it's diversity. It lets you take control of a large number of the variables of world generation. I don't think there is anything on par with Terrain Control in its category.
Onionbro I have tried that WGEN before and honestly, it confuses the heck out of me. I guess I just want a simple one. Something "not normal" is what I am trying to accomplish. Terrain control would accomplish this mission, however, I have no idea where to even begin with using this plugin.
Yeah, it is a bit more advanced. You could use some of the guides/templates for TerrainControl and add some bo2 files to accomplish a relatively unique look. Even using standard generation+bo2 would get you something interesting.
If you have anything specific I have a bunch of unreleased ones. I kind of gave up on them owing to the difficulty in setting them up (you have to edit a .yml file and people just don't seem to get that!)
Have any of them been posted on dev.bukkit? I would be grateful for any additional condename_B code. As long as you are explaining the .yml other's don't have any right to be sad. However, I understand how the general lack of user investment in configuration may be discouraging to the continuing development of such plugins. You know, as wild as it may sound. A private plugin club might be more rewarding for you and some of us.
Hmm, as far as I remember - no. I wonder if the dev.bukkit.org license would let me just upload all my WGEN into one project.
Hm... I should rephrase. The general lack of investment by users.... If TerrainControl is a/the standard, how much more difficult are your generators to set up? Perhaps users would be willing to set them up after all? Dunno...
They're easier than TerrainControl but each one does less. It's also a matter of how do you document a WGEN plugin, besides screenshots? If you feel like writing up a "standard" documentation for a WGEN plugin I'd be happy to stick all my back catalogue on there for you.
I'm a bit confused. Do they not have configuration files or is the .yml you speak of the bukkit.yml? Either way I might be interested in documenting them. I'll PM you.
