[ACTUAL TUTORIAL] How to get color codes in your motd WITHOUT ANY PLUGIN!

    TUTORIAL:
    1. Open your server.properties file that's in your server folder with your craftbukkit.jar
    2. Find MOTD=
    3. Write the text you want.
    4. Then paste this in front of it: \u00A7
    5. Then at the last of the numbers, paste a number that is the color code (color codes can be found here)

    EXAMPLE:
    \u00A72Awesome server!\u00A4Yay!
    Will be shown up as:
    Awesome server! Yay!

    I've tried it with the "§" symbol, started the server, it later changed it to the "\u00A7#". By the way, there is this cool plugin the cycles through different MOTD's. Click here for it.

    It's unnessesary to download a plugin when you can add colors and stuff without any plugin.
    Also, I don't need the cycling thing.

    Just saying. :confused: It was for the purpose of other people to know there's an alternative. By the way, this post is uneccessary, several people have already made the exact same tutorial/have find a solution...

    Hahaha! :p

    This plugin doesn't cycle through different MOTDS...

    Can I request a delete for this thread, before the Bukkit forums is FILLED witht these? Or at least move this to an appropriate section of the forums? Like Bukkit Discussion since PapiDimmi isn't requesting help in any way.
