Inactive [MECH] MagnetBlock v0.4.7 - Movable Structures controlled by Redstone [1060]

    Absolutely amazing work. I love this in combination with RedRemote. Thanks for continuing the good work. So far have only had minor issues with block changes since updating.

    Hi man .. great plugin. Works perfectly on my server ..

    On another server i have this issue..

    my door now decides to be invisible and after calling it 2-3 times it reappers but as cobblestone ... it stays that way until server restart and then itll be invisible again - quite annoying. it should be a glass door

    my problems is that the structures are becoming air type then when i reset the server the structure is not there. Help

    Sorry, that are just debug messages as I noticed :D they don't imply any error ;)

    to the others: Which Version of craftbukkit do you have got?

    Actually didn't notice the issue before but some of my structures are reverting to cobblestone after a restart. The structure will list the appropriate materials before the restart but afterward it shows as air. When I activate the magnets 2-3 times it will reappear as cobblestone.

    It seems this is not happening with structures built in my spawn area. The block I am using is the Fence (for a portcullis) .

    If I edit the structure back to fences it will remain again until the next server reset. Using the latest Craftbukkit build.

    [edit] could this possibly be due to the search string running prior to the structure loading? I am assuming that the structure is not stored as part of the chunk in which it is built since it is in a separate file.

    It might explain why structures that work during play would suddenly disappear on reload of the server.

    I know... I love this plugin. I will definitely be following along to see how you progress with it. Love the way this functions with minimal commands and before the server restarts it works beautifully.

    Actually I get this after I remove and replace a magnet or if I add power to an iron block without designating it as a magnet.

    It seems that sometimes this will prevent me from receiving console messages relating to magnet or block placement until a plugin reload.

    sorry one more thing... what is the significance of the 0 at the end of the block data
    i.e.
    1488,70,1010,WOOL,0

    This is the data-value, which decides which color the wool has, or which side of a block a torch is attached to. See the Minecraft-Wiki for more information about that.

    very nice plugin, good work.

    but i have some issues. First: the thing with the debug messages appearing when putting power to ironblock, this is very annoying in conjuntion with addons like Redstonechips, because as you all know, ironblocks are there designated as input, so redstone current will be at iron all the time. this will be very very annoying if you have some redstonechips that are having inputchanges for example from clock devices, imagine the message appearing 10 or even 100 times a second!

    Second: I made a sliding glassdoor in my house. It was sliding to the side as expected to one Magnet. then after passing the door it automatically closes thanks to a second magnet. This worked perfectly, except when i restart the server the door cannot slide anymore because the room between the door and the first magnet filled up with glass. After that i destroyed the door, made an new one and afeter restart, same problem. No debug message, no Error message, nothing. Just the weird problem with the glass appearing between the two magnets.

    This is caused when MagnetBlock doesn't save the structures properly. How do you stop the server? Do you type /stop or do you just close the window/terminal?
    Alternately, you could type /mbsave before quitting your server, this will save the structures as well.

    Ok so .. i copy your .jar to the plugins folder, start server, after MagnetBlock loads up, this "debug" msg spam my console .. :( no other errors there .. how can i than fix this? :oops:

    My RB is 556 ..

    EDIT: I just tried remove structure/magnet .. nothing helped :/ where your plugin saves magnets info ? it's same as structures ? btw. i have no folder here, only jar ..

    You can't "fix" that because it's not an error message. It is removed in the next release.

    Oh well, never thought about that. Actually i did kill the server with CTRL-C :oops: ill try to stop it normally in the future :) , thank you for the quick reply.

    @narrowtux Hi Narrow :) First off, I love the plugin and, while it does cause some server lag every once and a while when new structures are being built, after a restart it works like a charm. So that does not bother me too much.

    However, I've been receiving an ENDLESS stream of messages from the server reading:

    The structures still work just fine, however, the spam is clogging up the console and lagging the server a bit. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :) Let me know when you are able.
    (I believe I read someone with a similar problem, but I just wondered if the more recent version perhaps had a fix)

    Offtopic question to everyone: Does anyone know how to build these toggleable boxes with "show spoiler"?

    I released v0.4.1, which removes the debug message. Plus an additional feature in follow-me-mode.

    Unfortunately, I've run into a new thing now... Everything loads appropriately, but after updating the plugin from the older version, my structures don't seem to be responding anymore, though I saved the old structure files and put them into the updated folder.

    So to test this a bit more, I removed the old structure folders entirely and tried to create a new structure thinking maybe the format had changed... Unfortunately I got this:

    Not sure exactly if there is a method for me to fix that, or if it's simply a bug, but either way, let me know when the get the chance :)

    Please try if you can create an info.csv in the MagnetBlock/ folder yourself.

    Really badass plugin man
    But if you want to make like a stuff elevator (so the stuff goes up)
    it goes straight trough the block
    Can you fix that please? :D

    How do you try to make the elevator? At my machine, elevators work and even with halfsteps.
    You should try to make a shaft or something like that to keep the elevator on the same x/z-coordinates. Then it will go straight up.

    Nonon thats not the problem , the elevator works
    but when i trow an item on it , let it go up , the item just fall trough the block
    can you fix that please?

    When you want to elevate items, I think the ground has to be thicker, (i.e. 2 or more blocks). But I never tried that, I just saw this in a ControllerBlock video.

    maybe, this error is thrown whenever the plugin is unable to open the file for writing. maybe it hasn't got sufficient rights for this file?

    @narrowtux Well the interesting part is, we were working fine until I updated to the new version to prevent the spam debug message, and even then it worked fine until I shut down the server. But after the next start up, the structure list was empty yet the folder was still in the plugins file. I used the old MagnetBlock file when I updated (to keep all my structures) but perhaps this caused some sort of error.

    I will try allowing it to make its own file and then dragging the individual structures into it.
