How long does it take for your first plugin to be accepted?

It's been about 5 or six hours since I posted my plugin to BukkitDev, and was just wondering how long it usually takes for a moderator to check, test and aprove a plugin, thanks.

It all depends on our load for the day. Recently, we've been receiving literally hundreds of new files and hundreds of new projects on a daily basis, and so our staff are a bit overwhelmed. However, you can rest assured we're hard at work fixing this issue. Sorry for any inconvenience.

As for your project itself, the reason it's likely taking so long is because you haven't named your files properly. Your file title needs a version number in it, such as ThorBans v1.0. You can edit it by going to the file's page, going to file management, and clicking edit file. Right now we just don't have the time to stop everything and deal with projects that aren't following our guidelines, so until the queue is at a lower size and there's more time, they just tend to sit there until something can be done.

I've a Question too: Yestersay i've published a Plugin, but added with <h4> Tags to please don't approve the plugin, until i've added the next feature - if a mod see that, will there just pass it and approve it later, or never approve it?

I'm pretty sure they don't see the descriptions. Perhaps simply wait and only upload the project when it has those features? You can put your project in planning until then.

lol768 Thanks :) ! But the matter is i don't know how to delete files on devbukkit :/ Can i delete them until the project is approved?

You should be able to edit them and mark them as deleted or something. If you can't figure out how, just stick "PLEASE_DELETE" in the title + somebody will deal with it for you.

It can take up to a week and a half sometimes. So I'd sit back and relax for a bit.

What? No it doesn't. It can take a long time for a developer to get their project in line with our guidelines, but saying it takes a week and a half to get approved is misleading.

WoolColorizer took 1 day and 19 minutes to be approved. Also, it is NOT respecting the guidelines and I have marked it as needing changes. You should have a PM in your inbox on BukkitDev shortly.

None of your projects have taken more than 2 days to be approved. The longer one was because it had to be sent back once. Just don't try to give people a false idea of this stuff. We work very hard to keep approval times low.

First of all, sorry, but I need you to just be patient while we work as hard as we can for a bit longer. I'm sorry about the elongated time, but we are currently working on plans to shorten it. Until then, please bear with us as we do what we can.

  17. No problem i'm patient, but i don't understand why files with 1 day are approved before mines with 2 or almost 3 days.

Unless you can direct me to what you're talking about, I can't say for sure. However, we do have multiple staff working at the same time. For instance, if one person claims the top 50 files in the queue and works on them for the next few hours, another staff might claim just 10 files below them because that's all they have time for, and will get all of them approved faster because there's less to do. Rest assured that we have no reason or temptation to approve out of order.

  19. Just check my plugins:

    http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/fast-track/
    Waiting it's v.1.3 file since 2 days.

    http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/fall-damage-savior/
    Waiting it's v.1.4 file since 2 days.

    http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/death-messages/
New plugin, Project and Files waiting since 2 days.

    http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/private-teleporter/
New plugin, Project and Files waiting since 2 days.

The unfair thing is that i see all days plugins that are approved in hours or just files, and mines are waiting since 2 entire days, if you see the new plugins seccion, just waited hours or 1 day.

Locked. Your files and projects will be looked at as soon as we can. Sometimes its quick, sometimes its not.
