Currently, I am using the 1.4.2 Beta build for my server. Every few minutes it restarts, and I even set the "ticks per autosave" option to 0, and this issue still persists. Any solutions?

    I'm having the same issue.
I also use Essentials, EssentialsAntiBuild, EssentialsChat, EssentialsSpawn, EssentialsProtect, Factions, WorldEdit, and McMMO.

In addition to this, I use WorldGuard and BOSEconomy.

There has been no warnings on startup, no errors during the crash.
It restarts without any relevant messages.
It's been driving me crazy. >_>

What build of bukkit are you using?

Do you mean with all of your plugins disabled?

The newest Beta build for 1.4.2. http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/craftbukkit-1-4-2-r0-1-is-now-available.108490/

The instructions here clarified that in the "bukkit.yml" file there's a feature to disable auto-saving. It said if you change it to 0, then it will stop. I changed it to 0 and it still auto saves.

I'm using the next build up from that, so no help there. :\
I can try disabling all of my plugins and running the server, see if it still crashes.
I can't do it right this second though, trying to get a lab assignment done.

If the server runs without plugins and doesn't crash, it becomes a matter of adding them in one at a time until you isolate the one causing the issue.

Not really an option for me, and my host only supplies the jars for Betas and Recommended builds. Thanks for the help though

The next build up is still a beta build.. it's just the next build up.
By that logic, your host should have it available, though at this point it doesn't seem to be relevant.

Don't you have access to your own files/plugins? If you don't, it's likely time to seek out a new host.
You should never use a host that forces you to wait on them/rely on them to update your server,
    it's just bad news bears.

You'd think at the very least you'd have access to the little web client that most hosts make available.

Alright, I dropped every plugin from my server except Essentials.
Leaving that to avoid any potential firespread issues.
I'm going to leave my client open, see if it crashes.
If it doesn't crash, I'll start adding plugins back in, one at a time, starting with the ones that you mentioned you use.
I have a few extras that I use (CraftIRC, etc), but didn't think it necessary to mention all that. ;)

I do have access via FTP, but if I manually change the jar it probably will mess the entire thing up.

You don't actually have to make any changes to the .jar file.
    You're literally either:

-Deleting the original file and uploading the new file
    or
-Uploading the new file, overwriting the old file.

Well, shit, server just crashed with only essentials running.
Let me delete essentials and see if the issue persists.

Am now running a purely vanilla install of craftbukkit with no plugins, will let you know if the crash/restart occurs again.

I'll just wait until RB for 1.4.2.

I'm having no issues with crashes, only reloads.

    Alright.
With zero plugins running, it still crashed.
I'm officially willing to say this is a bukkit/minecraft issue.

To me, a forced restart without any error messages = crash.
Your client disconnects from the server, and the server restarts, yes?

    Ah, well damn.
I'm not getting that, my server just randomly restarts at random intervals.

Better report it to http://leaky.bukkit.org/ then :O

I'm going to shortly after I finish this assignment, it's due in about two hours..
I have a very bad habit of procrastinating. ;)

I wish I could isolate the problem a little better, or at least determine the cause of it,
but at this point, I'm running zero plugins, and the latest build of CraftBukkit, not sure where to look from there.

The next step would be to determine if Vanilla has this issue too. But that kind of requires a lot of patience...

I'll do that prior to reporting it. Twould hate to bother the folks at Bukkit if there's something else I could do first.

    Switched to vanilla minecraft 1.4.2.
So far, issue has not resurfaced.
Going to report issue to bukkit.

    https://bukkit.atlassian.net/browse/BUKKIT-2798

You're likely going to want to report your issue separately, though.
From what I've gathered, we do seem to have two separate issues.
You said your server is 'reloading', but not completely restarting.

My server is completely restarting (kind of like when you click the 'Restart' link, in the console).
It disconnects all online players and starts back up, loading bukkit and all plugins.
It causes a rollback to the point when the server was started (normal, when you don't shut down properly).

    :\
