I've just tried the newest 1.4.2 build (#2415) and everyone who logs on finds the same thing; the entire world is upside down! Also, the depth of field seems to be messed up too.
Any thoughts or ideas on how to fix this?
    Thanks!

Try making a backup copy of your plugins folder then moving it out of your server folder. Next, start your server without the plugins and see if that fixes the problem. If so, install the plugins 1 by 1 to find the culprit.

looks like you applied a speed potion effects on you from somewhere. follow what Nickbbeezy said, but also die and see if it clears.

I removed all of my plugins and restarted everything, but I got the same results. Everything is upside down and wonky. :( All players who try to login experience the same thing. If I revert everything back to 1.3.2, it works fine.
Has this happened to anyone else?

    No
Sounds like map corruption, applying slowness to all. Weird.

Try putting your overworld world file into you %appdata% .minecraft saves, and see if its upside down there too. If so there must be something wrong with the world.

I'm sorry, I'm fairly new at this, so I don't follow. What do you mean by "overworld world file"?

Take the world folder of the world that this problem is happening for and put it in your single player worlds folder.

Thanks! Ok, I copied the world into my single player and then updated my minecraft to 1.4.2.
My old single-player world works normally, but the new world I copied over from the server is upside down.
Is there hope, or am I just screwed?

The world is upside-down in single player?

Yes. I now have two worlds in single player. An old world that I used to play, which is working normally, and the new world that I just copied over from the server world. The server world is now upside down in single player.

Hmm... Are there any potion effects on your player? This sounds like it is related to beacons, but I'm not sure.

Sadly, there are no potion effects on anyone. All players that login from any location have the same upside down effect.

This is interesting, never had such a problem before. I fear the worst: Map corruption. Try to make a backup of your world and delete the old folder (in the server), restart the server to let a new world generate. If that one is normal, than it's definitely a map error.

I don't think it's related to beacons though.

But would the map be corrupt if it still works in 1.3.2?
And if it is, is there anything I can do to repair it? :'(

Maybe something on this website can fix it?

Alright, I'm not the only one! Any ideas on how to correct this?

It is a plugin. You will have to delete the world each time because even if you delete the plugin that is causing the problem, the world has already been permanently corrupted. Actually, don't delete the world, just rename the 'World' folder to something else so you can save it later. Then let the server create a new world. If it is still upside down, delete the world and try again. This happened to me and for me it was my Skyland Plus plugin. Once you find out what plugin was causing it and you have it not upside down, you can recover the world if you copy the regions folder inside of the folder your original world is in and copy it into the folder of the new, not upside down world. That worked for me. Hope this helps!

Can you tell me what plugins you are using? That way we can eliminate some of the possibilities by knowing what plugins we have in common.
I'm using AntiXray, Essentials, GroupManager, EssentialsSpawn, Lockette, NoCheatPlus, PickUpArrows, Reforestation, WorldEdit, WorldGuard, ColoredSigns, JoinDate, PreciousStones, Storm, and SwearingBlocker.
Also, two things show up in my permissions files that I did not put there. They are Permissions, and BukkitCompat.

    I
Of the ones you have listed, I am using Essentials, Group Manager, Essentials Spawn, WorldEdit, and WorldGuard and it is working for me so it isn't any of those. For me it was skyland+

Try deleting The Reforestation plugin or move it to your desktop and see what happens

No luck. This is upsetting. I am going to hate having to tell my players that I have to erase this map. :'(

You must let the server create a new world each time you delete a plugin. Even if you remove the plugin that is causing the problem, it has already screwed up the world. Once the server makes a world and it is not upside down, you can recover your old world. Just replace the regions folder in the new world with the one from the old world.
    Worked for me.

I'm sorry, I see now that this is the second time that you've posted this. Somehow I missed it the first time.
For the most part, this has worked for me!!
I actually found no plugins that messed anything up. But I created the new world, which worked just fine, then I transferred the region folder and it took!! I’ve lost all of my groups, but that is minor.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

But now I have a different problem. Even though I set myself as an OP via McMyAdmin, I have no admin rights at all. I can’t change my game mode or enter any commands that I used to have, so I can’t change anything at all. Minecraft says that I have 'no access to that command'. Is there something that I am forgetting to do? I am terrible with permissions, so I’m sure I’m not doing that right. To tell the truth, I'm not even sure how to set permissions.
Can anyone walk me through setting permissions so that I have access to all possible commands?
    Thanks.

Were the commands working before you updated?

Also try running this command in the console "/op <your username>" and see if that works.

Yes, I have tried that. I set myself as OP in McMyAdmin and, although it said I was OPed, Minecraft tells me that I don’t have access to any commands.
So in Minecraft, I typed “/op Finkdaddy” and it told me I was OPed.
But I still don’t have access to any commands.

Yes, they did work before the update and now they don’t.
I should point out that, per snoutdog49er’s suggestion, this is a new world that I just copied the “region” folder into. I don’t know if that would make a difference or not.

Is there a permission somewhere I'm forgetting?
