"Connection reset" in console, but no quitters.

I keep getting, every twenty (or so) seconds (sometimes 19 sometimes 21 but quite exactly 20), "Connection reset" but no one quit and there's no one that tried to join. The server in question is a whitelisted server using Modifyworld to keep the whitelist so whenever someone not whitelisted tries to connect it notifies me.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? It's not game breaking, people can still join with no problem but it adds on to the already really big logs.

Typically, this is due to someone having your server in their saved server list and their client is "pinging" your server to see if it is up.

 

How annoying!

 

Quite - I think it would be possible to make those an option or supress them completely, but it would need some code from Mojang...
