With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

Multiverse isn't broken, and actually I have found a major bug with WorldGuard. People can bucket lava and water inside protected regions, and even bypass the blacklist from time to time. I have disabled fire and lava damage to combat this temporarily, but it is still a fairly large bug, especially when I have 60+ people sitting in the spawn, and 160+ on at one time.

I love how these new "1.3.1 Bukkit" servers are flooding planet minecraft, and getting the same number of views as my server did in a week in a half - in 6 minutes.

They will have to change that. Previously, there was no use for string as a building material, only a crafting material, so using it had no problems.

there was a steady flow of new dev builds showing up.. they seem to have stoped tho.. wonder if this means the next posted build will be an RB ! hope so lol

Most of mine work. Try posting in the Bukkit Help section for assistance.

seems to be quite a-lot of latency on my server now with 1.3. My plugin converted just fine, minus the removal of the explosionpacket60 effect , still need to look that up and fix it, but no big deal. The big deal here is latency, this build, although stable seems to go very slowly, compared to 1.2.5-r5.. not sure why yet..

Have you tested without plugins on b2281? I find my chunks are loading like a champ.

I am getting lag and relatively high CPU usage too on my server. Hopefully its because its a dev build and things will get back to normal with the stable release.

Loading like a champ alright, unloading however.. Not so much. :)
Seen confirmation from a few people that have trouble with all of their RAM being used. We're talking about a normal 2GB RAM usage having increased to the maximum allowed (in the images I were shown, 6 and 7 GB) with merely 30-50 players online.

Now I am not familiar with the normal average number of loaded chunks with 63 players online, but in the example I was given it was 6017.

Hope is hope, and that is not the end of everything, but really the beginning of nothing.
What I'm trying to say, is that no matter what you post here, It shouldn't accelerate the speed of the upcoming RB.

I had the same problem. I started deleting plugins to find the one causing the problems. And I think I found it. After deleting Ptweaks chunks start to load normaly. I don't know about any other plugins you use since i'm not using them. Hope it helps

Yes I've been running a local CB server with one of the development builds (no plugins other than WorldEdit) to test before rolling out to our public server. My system has 12GB, and the server was using 6-8GB, and that's just with me using the local client, no other connected players.

OMG that fixed it!!! Ive been trying to figure this out all day lol!!!

Well now that i got that huge issue fixed...... is there any reason i shouldnt put my server online for everyone again ? I dont feel like waiting for the RB when everything is working fine right now (or so it seems) :D Not trying to be like impatient or im not telling anyone to hurry up. It just seems silly to leave my server offline (and wait for the RB) when it seems to function just fine.

You can change that yourself in WorldGuard's config.yml. Under regions change the value for wand from 287 (string) to something else.

    Yes.
My own server is experiencing the very same issue. However, the the information about loaded chunks was not from my own server. effortless can confirm with some fresh details of his setup, I'm sure.
