With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

I would be impressed, If you didn't have four x's in your name. Also, can I see a link to this supposed company?

Use WorldGuard, make EnderChests restricted in your creative world with just putting it on the item blacklist for that world. Simple, really.

  5. Haha okay, star-hosting.nl. Best way for Minecraft hosting * Kuch*

That 'x' was because the name was already in use lol.

Not necessarily. just means that you have your own private network combined with a private server. VPS is just a private server on a shared network.

Having your own root access to a dedicated server is by FAR the better way to go but not always available to folks because of its inherent high cost and need for a decent team.

The advantage? Hosting your own services, website, SQL DB, etc.... You don't have to be at the mercy of when a VPN company decides to host the latest files and you can fine tune your hardware to how YOU want it to be set up.

Keeping this on topic...1.3 stands to show some massive improvements overall so it may lessen the benefit gap between VPN and Dedicated. Power over your own material is quite key though, and VPN never quite gives you that.

  12. You have to rely on the uplink to the server, set the network during the day become more used so your uplink get slower and it laggs are.

  13. I can also go into advanced and choose the .jar directory if I wanted to use something like Tekkit or some other modded .jar. I guess theres more difference in server hosts than I though.

I just thought of something, I'll probably have to ban the placement of Ender Chests on my Pvp/Faction server I Administrate on, Because players can put their spawned items into the ender chest, and I'd have no way of opening it to see.

All I would see is MY enderchest saved inventory.

Ya scared me for a moment. Easy solution. Use your log blocking tool, click chest, check previous records. :)

Sounds like me. Gaming network of 5 fairly sized Minecraft servers, a small hosting company (around 4 clients), and a few TF2 servers <3. We could get along nicely. lol And, I love Untangle Linux.

The network depends on what sort of uplink you have. 50mbps mid-day? you're set.

And ah, this is where VNC access comes in. Letting the users do what they want to do on their own.

Ok so I'm done posting, I got a friendly PM asking me to stop posting off topic.. Funny I thought I was helping distract the often too frequent "When is it done" comments.. And honestly I don't know what WAS off the topic. No I know why it's taking so long... GOOD LUCK

Seeing as how many completely useless posts are being added to this thread... Anyone here a talented web developer? PHP and all that fun stuff? Let me know if you'd be interested in helping me out.

On a sidenote, thanks Bukkit team for keeping up with all past and present updates. Especially considering you deal with the constant pestering of raging nerd children. 2 thumbs up, you guys allow dedicated servers to be incredibly fun ;)

  24. Yes I use File Zilla and Notepad ++ very offten. And here's another screenshot of the .jar location options.

Also, I don't think you can make the server change which .jar it uses over ftp. Only upload new ones via ftp.

  25. Just 4? Lol, i have 200 active services.

All they did was tell you to stop posting off topic, if you paid attention before, One of the Moderators Said to keep it on topic about 1.3 details and bukkit update discussions. If you don't know what was off topic then ask a Mod, don't make angry posts.

Is that an issue? I don't do this as a full time job. lol
It's mostly just friends that pay me around $10 a month to host a small server for them. You on the other hand, probably have a pretty big stock of players, as all the servers on my system probably never cap 100 players. 200 servers? Yeah. You be busy. lol

  30. Who do you use? Sounds like they didn't add the new .jar to your console yet.
