[FORMATTED] Obsidian Rooms Block Teleporting

Suggested name: TP_BLOCKER

What I want: I'd like to see a plugin that disallowed players to teleport (using Essentials Teleport) out of a room that is made of Obsidian. If there is obsidian above, below, and all around the player, within a 7 block radius (configurable?) it disallows the player from moving through it.

Ideas for commands: /tp [playername] [player] -only needed for bypass.

Ideas for permissions: player.TP_Blocker.bypass

When I'd like it by: ASAP, but if this is an outrageous request, i understand, dont stay up all night working on this. I dont really need it by midnight tonight, just before next week Friday, that would be 7/27/12

Thanks for reading all of this, if no one would like to do this, i will try to contact the makers of essentials to add a TP_BLOCKER as a feature. Any current plugins that i have not found are appreciated.

I do think that this could be a good idea, however, if nobody has responded that either means that they do not want to, do not think that it is a good idea, or just plain don't care.

I know that Sushi create alot of plugin requests though, so she might be your best bet. I would make it myself except that I already have 3 client protects that I need to finish first.

 

I like it, wish i had enough knowledge with java.

 

Well, thanks for looking at it OstlerDev and AeroFreak I also wish i had the knowledge of JAVA to do it myself, but alas, when teaching yourself a programming language, you dont get a lot of experience.

 

I'm currently working on some private plugins, but can't you make a worldguard region in the obsidian room to block any commands that you want to be blocked?

 

well, there are several reasons, i want to be able to warp people to them, but they dont have access to the /warp so, that would be a plus. i want to teleport to them, but not vice-versa. etc

PreciousStones can do this. Instead of having to create an obsidian room, though, you need to merely put down a diamond block. The diamond block projects an (invisible) field or cube, that prevents teleporting, building, destroying and pretty much anything. It's configurable, so you can prevent teleporting, but still allow building.
Furthermore, it has a whole bunch of other, very cool features. Check it out!

NOTE: by default, the diamond block does not prevent teleporting. You will need to configure it yourself.

 

Jenthura the reason i wanted the room to be obsidian was so that it would take longer for the players to escape, but since the players will have their inventory confiscated on entry, they would not be able to escape, this would be a jail of sorts.

Obsidian because it's hard to break? If that's the case, then you should just bedrock.
But I see what you mean. You want to be able to build 'adventures' which the players have to escape from using cunning and skill. Clearing (and returning) the inventory would be a very useful part of the plugin.

 

Jenthura that would be a good part of the plugin, and seems to me like it would be a good plugin for a prison server. I was just hoping to use this plugin for jails, but that sounds like an epic idea. Would you be willing to make this Jenthura?

there could be a chance for escape (configureable?) but there does not have to be, if you are willing to create this plugin i would be much obliged to you, also, if you could send me the source code so that i could learn from it, that would be nice. I promise i would not take any credit for the plugin, i would let you do anything you want for the plugin if you decide to make it. np98765

 

I'm not that advanced in Java yet. -_- I'm just throwing out ideas.

I know there are plugins like Jail that allow you to jail people, but add a more interesting aspect by adding the option of escape routes and stuff. You don't necessarily have to have an obsidian room that blocks TPs.

 

Jail will not work for me because it will break my server if i jail people when they have enchanted items in their inventory, thanks for the suggestion, though

I feel that it is time for bump number 5, everyone hates having to get to 1 bump, let alone 5, but i will just be patient and wait this out like all of the other people who are waiting.

 

I'll make it, I just have one question: How will the players get inside the obsidian room? Will there be an entrance inside?

 

I was going to use my override and warp there then using the override i would bring people there.
