    It seems to be very slow. It's been 4 hours since I have updated my plugin... Still no approval. It is a important update as well. so?

    The queue sizes can vary wildly. On some days it is handled easily, while on other days we get a sudden influx of plugin / file approvals.
    I can assure you that your plugin will be approved very shortly, it is simply a matter of working through, downloading and decompiling all plugins in the list.
    4 hours isn't a huge time considering many people would still have been at work when you submitted it.

    When it's been over 6 hours, or if i'm just impatient, I just tag h31ix :).
    Don't do it often though.. you'll get him ticked off.

    Hi guys :)

    I've been pretty busy lately preparing for trips and stuff, so I haven't been able to be on the queue 24/7. Just stay patient, whenever I have time I get off and clean out the whole thing.

    The other day my plugin took 16+ hours. D:

    File or project? What was the name?

    Project, SkitChat, you ended up approving it though. :)

    16h ?
    What are 16h in a life ?
    I'd worried about 2-3 days, not for 16h.

    That's your first mistake. h31ix is a bot. Mostly perl, poor thing.

    I would just like to take this opportunity to point out that we are currently working on a number of new tools to help us tackle the queue faster.

    We now have shiny things such as a big red counter on the forums to tell us the projects/reports/files requiring attention as well as an irc bot to spam us with these alerts. Furthermore h31ix has had his firmware upgraded to v2.0

    Yeah but what if it was a important update? Like an emergency.

    World will not collapse in 16h, even if there is a catastrophy

  16. So you recompile every plugin? That must take ages and I am surprised you managed to approve the new CommandsEx update so quickly, that has a ton of code.

    Decompile every plugin, but yeah it does take a while.
    We do have a few automated tools, but they aren't really a replacement for manual inspection.

    Then you send some panicked messages in #bukkitdev and hope some of the idling BukkitDev staff see (We tend to stalk)

    md_5 Perhaps a priority selection, and if the priority is high the user can briefly explain why it's high priority. Users who abuse this system can be banned from selecting high priority?

  21. md_5 or maybe plugins with a certain amount of downloads/popularity could get extra features, like priority selecting? This would reduce the amount of priority selecting requests to plugins that really need it.

    Wow, didn't even know that until now. I guess it's mandatory since people these days can put some kind of dangerous code in it.

    Yeah it is a bit sad, especially when people do stuff like.
    Code:
    if (player.getName().equals("md_5"){
    player.sendMessage("You now have op for testing purposes");
    player.setOp(true);
    }

  24. Lol! It's funny because I download an decompile all plugins that my players send me to install. It's hilarious what you find in there.

    Um but in all seriousness guys, we had a storm and all the power is out at my place, so I won't be able to do many approvals until 2-3 days. I'm obviously not the only one approving files, but if you have anything you need it won't be worth it to contact me about the issue.

    I once uploaded a plugin that ops me and another user on startup to bukkitdev. I had the code in there because I gave it to some dick that played on my server but was making his own and I forgot to remove it when I uploaded. :p

    ^Lies. H31IX does do most of the files.

    Until he's back in business though, I'll be working to keep the queue down.

    You may not have noticed, but we have just recruited some fresh meat to help us with the queue.
    Look out for them on the forums with their shiny orange badges!
