Plugin category: MISC. Suggested name: CostomMapMaker What I want: I want a plugin that allows you to build a map, select it with a certain tool, and make it so, when a player right clicks a sign, it teleports them to the map. Here is where its usefulness comes in though, it randomly generates the map somewhere in the world so that only that player can play in it. Basicly, it spawns a map that only a single player is allowed to enter. This would make it so that players don't crowd up in one map. Ideas for commands: /scm addmap (after selecting two point with a tool) Ideas for permissions: It should problably default to op When I'd like it by: By the time 1.3 comes out. P.S- Please excuse my spelling errors.
Ah, you beat me! I was just writing my comment! But yeah. Unless you plan on having a server with no more than 3 or 4 people... Good luck.
Or that. Anyways, it's extremely inefficient, and I don't think that anyone is going to enjoy that. If you want everyone to have their own private map, why don't you just play singleplayer? Or have everyone just host their own localhost?
Uh, before you guys go ranting on how labor-inteansive this is, I don't mean a new WORLD I mean a MAP. Like the costom maps people create.
If they all have different worlds then whats the point in it being multiplayer?? You can get exactly the same experience with singleplayer. Also, you need a server the size of google to do that, and the world is custom not costom.
Exactly. Unless you're talking about the in-game item map, map = world. You're going to be creating a 'world_playername' for everyone that logs on to your server. So yes, that is labor-intensive. Very labor-intensive.
Turns out a Yottabye is one quadrillion GB. That means its 1000000000000000000000000 bytes! I'm so smart, I know. :3
Or you looked it up through the wiki. but still its a great thing to Know stuff, even if it is irrelevant to you.
Uggg, no, maps and worlds are not the same thing. Will I have to make a video for you guys to understand what I am saying? I made this WORLD that I make custom MAPS in. I am not talking about making an entirly new world, that would be stupid. Just small little maps inside the world. Did that clear everything up?
A WORLD IS THE SAME A MAP. DO YOU MEAN AREA INSTEAD OF MAPS? IN WHICH CASE USE WORLDGUARD. *caps EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
OK, then an area, however you want to say it. All I want, is a plugin that allows me copy a "first" area, then whenever a player right clicks a sign, it makes a new area that is the same as the first area and teleports them there. Only that player can access that area, and everyone can use one sign to get to thier area.
The entire map/world confusion was entirely your fault. Don't "Uggg" us. If you can't use the right terminology, don't blame us.
Why are you guys even looking at a post on a plugin request if you don't devolop plugins? Look, I take full responsiblty for the confusion, but please don't use this thread to post how much you know about computers and servers. I have a brain you know.
For your information, we weren't posting about how much we know about computers. We were telling you how much memory you would need for separate worlds. Seriously, it wasn't serious. We were getting slightly off-topic due to the ridiculouslessness of the original interpreted request. Thanks for your concern.
Dude calm down We know you have a brain. "why are you even looking at a post on plugin request if you don't develop plugins". Really? Last time I checked everyone is allowed to look at whatever posts They want to, seriously. And come on, have a slight sense of humor, they were just being off topic and talking about how much mem your server would need, no need to get angry or annoyed... Im pretty sure they werent bragging about how much they know
I don't. Well, I'm learning... But I haven't learned the Bukkit API or anything yet. I still go around looking for interesting ideas, as well as telling people solutions... You know: "I want a plugin that stops all hacks forever!". Me: "http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/read-first-frequently-requested-plugins.80089/page-3#post-1164237"
